NationStates | The United Kingdom of Chiang Tai

The United Kingdom of Tai is a country in the Southeast Asian region, governed by a federal system with a federal council comprising members from various member states. Each member state has sovereign power to govern itself with a system of governance that reflects the cultural heritage and the will of the people of that country.

The United Kingdom was born out of the conflict between different political ideologies during the era when it was still Thailand. It was later divided into the Tai Republic and the Kingdom of Siam, and subsequently unified into a federation by the 62nd Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Siam, Colonel Kunakorn Jamjan, the leader of the Tai Ruam Fah Party, during the reign of King Narai III. He unified the Tai Republic and the Kingdom of Siam through diplomatic, trade, and military agreements. Under Prime Minister Kunakorn's leadership, the government also gathered surrounding countries to join the United Kingdom under the concept of the "Great Tai," which was able to unite various Tai ethnic groups. Currently, the Tai United Kingdom has a total of seven member countries.
