THE WAR COMES TO AN END!

(Poe Kyi, Yangon, 20:30)

The Third Konfrontasi, by far the deadliest war in the island of Borneo has finally come to an end. All involved parties have finally come to a peace settlement, and have agreed to demilitarisation, non-aggression and a white peace.

A treaty has been signed in Samarinda in Estoreasian Borneo in order to settle the war in peaceful terms.

 TREATY OF SAMARINDA

The treaty of Samarinda, 2094 is focused upon ending conflict and bringing peace in the island of Borneo and the East Pacific.

Following are the terms agreed on by the parties:

  1.  Status Quo Ante Bellum; That is, both sides of the conflict agree to return to their pre-war lands and withdraw troops from lands acquired as a result of war;
  2. Both sides form a 4km demilitarized zone between borders in Borneo. No troop mobility shall be allowed in this region. All troop mobility will be permitted only beyond this range of 4kms in the island of Borneo;
  3. Both sides pay war reparations to the lost civilian property as a result of attacks from both sides. This also includes the exchange of PoWs, if any;
  4. India shall denounce Estoreasia's actions of inviting Colombian military. Estoreasia's actions threatened the sovereignty of Tania, even if held no practical ground, hence their actions are deemed irresponsible and unacceptable. Estoreasia shall henceforth not interfere in matters regarding military as agreed in the Moulmein Agreement of 2087. Any further violation would receive special action from the Indian authorities;
  5. India and Johore Darul Takzim pull their military back as a part of demilitarisation and making their belligerent feel secure;
  6. Tania pulls their military back again as a part of demilitarisation and making their belligerent feel secure;
  7. Soviet Federation assures it shall not mobilize against any involved party;
  8. A separate agreement is to be made between Ferolloisa and India regarding military mobilisation;
  9. Both Sides agree to a non-aggression pact between each other for a period of 5 years (5 months irl) and agree to maintain peace at borders;
  10. Failure to comply with the treaty shall result in a declaration of war, if either party is not willing to hold the treaty up to mark and fails to act upon warnings.

Signed By:

  1. Various leaders of India (East India, Kashmir, Winners, Greater Indian Republic, Nebelystan, Jangurupureri and Bengal regions);
  2. Leader of Estoreasia;
  3. Leader of Tania;
  4. Leader of Soviet Federation;
  5. Leader of Johore Darul Takzim.

Signed at Samarinda, Estoreasian Borneo on 12:00pm GMT 0, 16th August, 2094

REMEMBERING THE LOST LIVES

Many however, that includes the parents, relatives, friends or loved ones of the martyrs of the war remain with sorrow, as they handle the fact that their loved one has died in this war.

Most casualties have been brought back to India, while some, who had been staying in Estoreasia for sometime, as a result even forming families in the island, were buried or cremated in a small military plot of Samarinda, now renamed to the Confrontasi War memorial, in memory of all the martyrs who gave their life to fight for the Indian and Estoreasian cause. Several Tanian casualties are still being held by Indian authorities, though are expected to be returned in exchange of casualties in the opposite side of the border as per the treaty.

A 21-gun salute has been held by the Far-Eastern Command of the Indian army in memory of all the militarymen who fought in the war from the Indian side at Chittagong. The national flag has also been bent to half-mast to honor the lost lives.

Additionally, any child of a martyr has been sanctioned by the state governments of far-Eastern India for free education till graduation.
