Celestis

Celestis, officially known as the United Cities, is a Sovereign Metropolitan Area located within a pocket dimension in the Northern Congo Basin of Central Africa. A constitutional monarchy, Celestis is governed in accordance with two legally binding documents, the 2110 Charter of Celestis, as well as the Edict of Aestra. The first and current monarch is Celestia Ludenberg, officially styled "Celestia The Great".

2114 United Cities Tri-Council Election

The 2114 United Cities Tri-Council Election, held June 11, 2114, marked the first election held by the United Cities since the nation's massive expansion between 2111 and 2113. Held shortly following Name Withheld's victory in the Name Withheld-Death Watch War, foreign policy, military issues and reconstruction were top priorities, as well as an ongoing debate on pollution management and land expansion issues. The incumbent government was Radiant Light, with 69 seats. Although Radiant Light fell to 52 seats, the party remained in government as a coalition with Ultrafuture was announced the following day, the "Scotland Coalition", named for Scotland's Blue-And-White flag, the party colors of Ultrafuture and Radiant Light respectively. Together, the parties hold 86 seats in the Councils. 

Ultrafuture criticized the government for poor national performance in the recent war as well as unrepaired infrastructure damage, while Radiant Light emphasized a commitment to deterrence and national unity. Celestial Spirit advocated for a hard line against raids, and criticized Ultrafuture for weakness while also urging military leadership changes. A new party, Bloc Kreia Needham (named for the eponymous left-wing populist) campaigned primarily on reducing pollution as well as a promise to expand to 30 cities by 2124. BKN did not stand in the Council of the Body.

The Chancellorship candidates were incumbent Prime Minister Peter Karral for Radiant Light, Callie Kaemper for Ultrafuture, Li Chen for Celestial Spirit, Kreia Needham for her Bloc, and Cristi Pallas for Prosperity.

A referendum was also held on a proposal, brought by the Celestial Spirit party, to abolish the Council of the Mind and merge it with the Council of The Heart. The referendum failed.
