History

The Third Empire of Tamriel lasted for over 400 years, but quickly collapsed after Emperor Titus Mede II’s assassination, which caused a power vacuum allowing the Thalmor and other political groups to seize power all over the continent. It was at this moment that Lord Aurelius Aureus, Emperor Tiberius’ grandfather, seized the heartlands of Cyrodiil and anointed himself king. Since then Aurelius’ descendants have worked to reunite the old empire starting with consolidating Cyrodiil, invading Skyrim, and the annexation of Orsinium who sacrificed their independence in exchange for protection from High Rock. Annexation of various High Rock cities are currently underway.

Government

The Fourth Empire is a Constitutional Monarchy with a Federal Bicameral government under the Emperor, and the government divided into three branches of Legislative, Executive, and Judicial.

The Legislature is divided into two chambers;

• The People’s Assembly is a body made of representatives voted into office, the number of which is determined by the regions population.
• The High Council is a body made of nobles or other high regional government officials if they don’t have nobility. The council also advises and assists the Emperor with running the Empire.

The Executive is made up of the Emperor, their family, and the Emperors Hand, who is chosen by the emperor, and chairs The High Council.

The Judicial is made up of an Imperial Court (highest court in the land) and many regional courts. All the judges are appointed by the Emperor and must be approved by both the People’s assembly and the High Council.
