The Mushroom Union is a country located on the Mushroom Isles, with a population over 4 million and a GDP over 5 billion. The Mushroom Union a developing and industrialised nation, and commerce is also on the rise. 

The largest city and the capital of the Mushroom Union is Mushroom Port, the political, economic and cultural centre of the nation. Other important cities include Sebastos (formerly Sevastopol) and Goombatown. The country is split into 59 provinces and 2 territories.

The Mushroom Union is a federative and parliamentary republic. The head of state is President GoombaKoopa, while the Prime Minister is Tobias Mueller. The legislature is the Parliament, where general elections will be held every 4 orbit years, most recently the 2104 election. Local elections will be held every 4 years between general elections.
