After the execution of Ernesto Che Guevara, socialist groups in all of South America continued their attempts to get rid of the crushing force that was the United States of America. Alberto Granado, Guevaras comrade during his early revolutionary travels, later continued the pairs' struggle to overthrow the capitalist system and create a united socialist world. With the help of Fidel Castros goverment, where Guevara had been a minister, Alberto Granado invaded the city of Huacho in Peru. The city's communist population had for decades been in talks with Cuba of a possible liberation, and calling the arrival of Granado an invation is doubius. As Granado arrived the people cheered, and local government officials were soon removed from their positions ande executed for their capitalist sympathies.

The local American embassy was quickly destroyed, which caused great alarm in the United States, as this was considered as an act of war, and because of the red scare during the cold war, the United States started funding Peru in attempts to recapture the city. After several attemps the Peruvian government had to give up the city, as they were unable to neither capture nor embargo the city, due to support from the Cuban navy. Because of the declared war, the newly captured Huacho managed to secure areas outside of the city, including bauxite mine and areas containing oil, which is why the country today is a primary exporter og oil and has a large airforce.

A few years later, the CIA successfully assassinated Alberto Granado at a public speaking event. The small nation, in commemoration of Alberto Granado, decided to change the young nations name to Granado, which it is called today.

After the assassination of Granado, the military alliance with Cuba quickly faded. To prevent naval embargos and prevent Peru with the help of the U.S from trying to recapture the city, Granado entered into the international alliance of Advanced Syndicalist Mechanics.
