Operation: Azov Launched, Invasion of Donbas

The Republic of Donbas has declared war against our ally Victoria in a so-called attempt to support the Melon a full five months after the war started. In response to this aggression from the Donbas and to defend our ally, the Sedrosian Empire extended its declaration of war to Donbas in retaliation for its declaration on Victoria. Further, the Sedrosian Empire issued a total blockade on the Republic of Donbas. The Dardanelles and Borphous Straits have been closed to all Donbas shipping, and Sedrosian airspace and land routes have been closed to Donbas as well. A total blockade of the Black Sea and Sea of Azov by the Sedrosian Navy has been enacted as well. 

Sedrosian forces, numbering 120,000 of the 9th and 10th Combined Army Corps under the command of General Vladimir Ivanov have been sent north to the Ukrainian-Donbas border. Meanwhile, a further 55,000 troops of the 2nd Combined Marine Corps and 4th Mechanized Air Cavalry Regiment have been given orders to launch Operation: Azov.

Sedrosian SDF-115 Fighter Jets Firing At Targets on Crimea

The operation started with a massive bombardment of defenses in and around the Crimean Peninsula by Sedrosian aircraft and naval assets with the aiding of Taipan Satellites. Air bases, supply depots, railways, and other military assets have been targeted. Multiple air and missile strikes have taken place on air bases in the north of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts as well as destroying all bridges across the Dnieper River within Donbas territory. A massive bombardment of the Sevastopol naval base has also taken place by Sedrosian naval and air assets to try and cripple Donbas' naval activity in the Black Sea to some success as the shipyards have been heavily damaged and a frigate and 2 subs were destroyed while at the port. 

Following the bombardments, landing craft, and aircraft with Marine and Airborne units stormed onto the beaches of Crimea near Sevastopol, Kerch, Yevpatorya, and Feodosia while a massive landing zone comprised of paratroopers and armored cavalry including some of the brand new DVRX-20 Light Tanks from the 4th Air Cavalry currently advance inland in central Crimea north of Simferopol. Landing battalions have successfully taken their landing zones and have now broken out in an all-out push from their zones. The rest of the invasion forces landed as the spearhead pushed deeper into Crimea with the main push likely being to be to capture Simferopol and Dzhankoi while simultaneously likely to try and cut off Crimea from the rest of Donbas. The city of Sevastopol remains mostly in Donbas' hands as tougher defenses have slowed the advance into the city itself.
