Provisional government replaced as elections conclude

Though it has been hard, the efforts to rapidly set up a new Russian government have payed off and a new constitution has been drafted and signed by both the Provisional government and the newly President of Russia.

Who is this new leader? In a shocking turn of events,  (Ultranationalist Party) candidate Ivan Kurenkov has managed to gain a 10% lead over (Democratic Choice Party) candidate Boris Yeshevsky. What makes it surprising is not the unpopularity of candidate Kurenkov’s party (of which he is also chairman to) which has slowly made a comeback as the only party that would speak out against the Soviets before the bombs fell, but due to the controversial nature of Kurenkov’s distain for many of Russias Southern and Eastern neighbors, as well as him and his party initially seeing a lower approval than the more moderate Democratic Choice party. The Nationalist party itself has had a substantial growth over time and even played a role in setting up the Provisional Government. This swift success has lead to many questioning the legitimacy of the Nationalist rise to power, though thus far no evidence of fraud has been found and authorities may not act on rumor and speculation alone.

As part of his acceptance speech, President Kurenkov has announced his intention to work with the Nation of Sedrosia in order to have all citizens out of bunkers by 2101, a promise that was met with cheers from the masses. He also has allegedly discussed the possibility for three of the large bunkers to be opened as radiation swiftly dies in certain areas (but is still prevalent in others).
