Democratic Rule Restored in the Netherlands

Dutch People celebrating the restoration of democracy and the inauguration of the new President.

Koen Winkelman has officially stepped down and declared the military Junta dissolved. The cause is quite possibly an unofficial civilian election being organised by several new politicians from small parties. Several small parties were on the unofficial ballot, as well as many of the old established parties, but they didn't endorse the election. The small, centre-right party Liberaal Democratische Partij (Liberal Democratic Party) managed to become the biggest party in the election.

The Junta had tried to shut down the voting centers, but that ended in violent incidents, in which soldiers opened fire on civilians. 21 innocent people, under which 6 minors have lost their life that day. Protests in the Netherlands intensified and intensified up to the point where even parts of the military joined the protestors, as they were done with the violent supression of their fellow countrymen.

Today, at exactly 16:00, Koen Winkelman has handed power over to Bart De Jager who is the head of the LDP. He immediately ordered for the Junta leaders to be arrested and executed. As well as re-establishing parliament and a functioning civilian government. He has, as of now also released information on his cabinet. We hope that President De Jager will be able to restore stability and peace to the country. Also for the sake of people being well informed about the Netherlands, President De Jager has ordered for the Office of National Information to shut down, so a new updated one can be launched soon.

Large Scale Military Reforms in the Dutch Army

20-09-2095 |Nationwide

The new N-23 Main Battle Tank, introduced into the military to replace the N-21.

President De Jager has ordered for large scale, far going reforms of the Dutch army. His first act was to sack many incompetent military staff that had commanded the military and promote many people based on merit. He also gave up supreme command over the 3 main army branches to more experienced people, while he himself only remains Supreme Commander of the institution itself (not the branches) and the new and improved missile corps: Het Staatsafweerarsenaal.

He began with renaming Het Nederlands Republikeins Leger into the simpler Het Nederlandse Staatsleger. He also renamed the ground forces, navy and airforce into; De Staatslandmacht, De Staatsmarine and De Staatsluchtmacht respectively. The Federal Bureau of Corrections (the Dutch intelligence agency) was renamed into the Staatsinlichtingen en Veiligheidsdienst.

He appointed Jeffrey Koning as Supreme Commander of De Staatslandmacht. Jeffrey Koning immediately decided to implement the Downsize and Professionalize doctrine to extreme measures, sacking many of the soldiers the Dutch army had and massively intensifying military training. He has reduced the army from the (unrealistic) 2 million men, to merely 596.250 men, 146.250 of which are purely for garrison duties, leaving the main fighting force at 450.000 soldiers. These soldiers are divided over 2 army groups, commanded by Mees Brink and Michiel Pokke. The army groups are split into several field command units, which are split into divions and so on and so on. The exact composition of the Staatslandmacht will be a well kept secret, with the only up to date copy of that information being held in Dutch secret archives (I may share them in the future, but not yet.) General Koning also officially introduced the N-23 into the military, which is meant to replace the N-21 MBT in the near future. (Details may also be shared later.)

Katrien De Lange became Grand Admiral of the Staatsmarine. She has split all 130 of our ships into smaller groups, which are commanded by 3 fleets and a reserve fleet. The European Fleet, The Asian Fleet and The South American Fleet. These fleets are commanded by Peter Horst, Gerrit Jansen and Antonio Bakker respectively. All the ships have began a modernisation effort to modernise what they can without being out of service for too long. The exact compositions and locations of the groups will also be kept a secret. (I might share them later when I can be bothered to.)

André 't Loo is now the Skies General of the Staatsluchtmacht. He has ordered for the construction of several new types of planes. There were blueprints of these planes laying around for a while, but they'd never been put into construction until now. There's a plan to expand the airforce with multi purpose jets, electronic warfare jets and several types of recon planes. (Details will be shared alongside the other military branches when I can be bothered to do it.)

The Staatsinlichtingen en Veiligheidsdienst have began to expand their counterterrorism unit, as well as their internal informant network. This makes it easier for the service to track down and neutralize possible criminals. She has also expanded her international operations to the continents of Asia and South America, as well as establishing a spec ops unit called the Dutch Covert Operations Team. (Details, later.)

Het Staatsafweerarsenaal is also being expanded with several more nuclear weapons and regular ballistic missiles. This will help deter wars, and protect the Dutch's neutrality, so it may be maintained for much longer. (Details later.)

Dutch Government Suspends ISP Membership, Denounces
Anti-A&PSA Coalition

A Dutch destroyer operating in Dutch territorial waters to protect ships.

President De Jager has decided to continue the suspension of the Dutch Membership of the ISP, and furthermore to denounce the violent, murderous tendencies of the Sedrosian Empire and Soviet Federation. President De Jager says that he morally can't support this conflict after being informed of the total destruction of cities by both the Sedrosian Empire and Soviet Federation.

General Koen Winkelman suspended Dutch Membership of ISP after Sedrosia proclaimed a naval exclusion zone against the North Balkan Federation that included Dutch territorial waters, without consulting the Dutch representative to the ISP. The General saw this as a clear violation of both the sovereignty and neutrality of the Republic, and one he could not stand for. President De Jager has decided to continue on this path, and keep Dutch Membership suspended, at least until the conflict ends. Furthermore, de Staatsmarine will protect any trade shipping which enter it's territorial waters, no matter the place of origin or the destination. Military ships entering Dutch territorial waters without permission/with the intention of attacking trade ships will be sunk without warning.

Author's Note:

Out of RP

As you might have noticed, I adopted a different style for this bulletin (thanks Victoria for explaining hehe). So, originally the Dutch Republic was supposed to have a big ass civil war with the Future of The Republic storyline, but because of all the times I (almost) had to go to war, I had installed a Junta. After the Junta, I just couldn't imagine how to continue with the story. For this reason I had to make the hard decision to cancel it, and begin thinking of something new.

As for my inactiveness in bulletins: I cannot muster the energy to regularly write bulletins, and quite often when I sit down to write, I experience severe writers block. Please don't think that I am gone, I do still work behind the scene's. I just wish there was a place where I could do minor actions instead of having to do a large bulletin for everything I want to do. (Oh I miss you so PWRO.)

Well that's about it for now. Idk if I keep this style for news bulletins, I kinda like it but it's not very original anymore as everyone has been doing it. I guess we'll just have to see. If you managed to get through this entire bulletin, thanks for reading and pls like. Buhbye now.

Mate, I'm not enforcing the blockade inside your waters, sedrosian vessels aren't even operating within like 30 miles of your coastline. Everything outside of your national maritime border is under watch by both Sedrosian and British vessels however.
