Avenging Nukeya: A Message From the Desk of the President of the United Imperium

Good morning, my fellow Americans. It is with great pleasure that I announce that The United Imperium and Nukeya have recieved confirmation of the death of the Iberian tyrant, King Charles. We can now confirm, beyond the shadow of a reasonable doubt, that the five Nukeyan advisors who were senselessly murdered by the Iberian regime have been successfully avenged. Let this be a message to all the world: we will not abandon our allies in their time of need. We will not allow acts of senseless violence against our allies to go unpunished.

Of course, for those of you who have been following the situation, you are already aware of the Nukeyan advisors who were sent to Iberia some time ago. You know that Nukeya sent these advisors to Iberia in good faith, in an effort to mend the relations between the two nations. Evidently, King Charles did not think very much of the Nukeyan attempt at diplomacy. Nukeyan intelligence already knew something was wrong when the advisors suddenly went radio silent. Our fears were confirmed when all five advisors were found dead. All signs pointed to Iberia. 

We spoke to the Iberians. They blamed Ausparia for the murders in a vain attempt to clear their name. I spoke with our own diplomats as well as Nukeyan diplomats. We also obtained Ausparia's statement on the matter. Ultimately, Nukeyan intelligence came to the conclusion that Iberia was responsible for the murders, and our own intelligence community was inclined to concur with that assessment. With that, we concurred that it was time to strike back. 

Thanks to Nukeyan intelligence, the HUMINT provided to us by the Graveyard Fleet, and the SIGINT our own NIEA worked tirelessly to collect, we were able to rapidly obtain Charles' location in real time. I cannot stress enough how incredible the tireless efforts of our intelligence communities have been in ensuring the safety and security of our peoples abroad. I spoke to Nukey, and after some discussion, we came to the conclusion that a limited strike on our HVT was the best way to send a message without significantly escalating the conflict.

With our aircraft in the Netherlands and in our European bases, we staged an airstrike against King Charles. To ensure our success, a 190-aircraft task force was sent into Spanish airspace to conduct the strike. The Spaniards, with their lack of a sophisticated radar early warning system or advanced IADS network were clearly caught off guard. Upon entry into hostile airspace, we shot down at least ten Iberian aircraft, suffering only a few losses in return. I know some reports say as many as 20 Iberian aircraft were shot down, but regardless of the number, I congratulate our Air Force and the European Theater Command on this overwhelming aerial success. 

After a successful strike and exfil, Graveyard Fleet Intelligence and Nukeyan Intelligence both independently corroborated the death of the Iberian tyrant. In carrying out this strike, our pilots showed incredible skill and courage. The intelligence agencies of all three nations put on a display of incredible resilience and dedication in the face of national hardship. This was a team effort, and I am grateful to the Graveyard Fleet for the critical support they provided during this trying time. I am also grateful to Nukeya for its unwavering loyalty and commitment to security on the world stage.

Finally, of course, I must thank you, the American people. Time and again, you have been forced to cope with the perils of war and the threat of violence. Every time, you have stood firm. It is your support that ensures our security, and the security of our allies around the world. Without you, none of this is possible.

One last thing. There will be no further military actions taken on this matter by the United Imperium. If Iberia recognizes the error of their ways and does not murder any more Nukeyans, there will be peace. However, if Iberia insists on the slaughter of Nukeyans, they have already seen what will happen to them.
