The New Helenburg Republic is a socialist nation forged from the fire and steel of Luciusville along with the cities of Bludhacak and Telinn, the Republic expanded greatly all across modern day Illinois, fighting for the freedom and socialist ideals and values of Marx and Harris, we will prosper as the one and true socialist utopia!

The founding of the Republic was established with the address made by President John Harris of the First Republic on the steps of Luciusville Town Hall, and with the First Congress established the day after the "Luciusville Address" that cemented the Republic's independence, and a national identity forming at the settlement of Luciusville, and in a future settlement, Bludhacak. 

With the failure of the First Republic's government, ineffective leadership and administration, and the devastating wars, famines, and recession caused by the failure of the Republic, a coup' d' etat was launched by the Socialist Party of Helen that went unnoticed by the general public. John Harris remained in power as a figurehead, while his brother, Michael Jun Harris, a fellow member of the Socialist Party, remained as the vice president, while the Republic changed its government and following a Western-style economy with Soviet styles of a centralized economy, helped the economy up from a recession, into a miracle.

The economy was in an all-time high as militarization began, as conscription began in the halls of the Second Congress, but it was too little, too late. Two more wars were launched, by the Yukari Democratic Republic and the Fart Empire that launched the Republic's economy and military into a downfall. The administration quickly collapsed during the wars fought in the homeland of Chicago. Rationing was passed and a military draft was established. Yet, after the wars, the people had enough of ineffective leadership by John Harris, and launched a full-on revolt in Luciusville, with the Socialist Party backing the rebels. John Harris, who had ignored and defied the Party's orders, retook control over Congress, and fired Jun Harris from his job as Vice President, quickly fled the capital, as many people stormed the presidental palace, and made Michael Jun Harris as president.

As the new president of the Republic after the coup, an emergency government was established while the reinstated military was ordered to hunt down the former president and his administration. Meanwhile, during the reconstruction of the cities, President Michael Jun Harris established Nuevis City as an official federal city, while in 10-15 more days, other cities were built beyond the Chicago River as Yorkia, and Neuburg. After the reconstruction was completed, the Socialist Party of Helen reestablished Congress after the coup as the Third Congress with limited power, while centralization of the economy became more strict while more liberal economic policies took place, such as the limited centralization of Luciusville Trade Center, and with the establishment of the Federal Treasury and the Secretary of Finance and Economics, along with the establishment of the Helen State Ruble, a new currency, backed by coal. The economy grew with reindustrialization under way, as nuclear power was soon powering all cities. Cosneck City became the last city to be established as a federal city, after the annexation of northern Cook County, and soon, Cosneck housed the first ever seaports and dry docks, boosting trade with settlements in Michigan.

After the re-establishment of power to the Party into a more limited control, the Third Congress ordered the establishment of five new autonomous republics with one republic having a more centralized control over the new republics to establish more stability and to prevent another revolution, along with the establishment of the National Republican Council, a copy of the Third Congress, with representatives from the five republics. Also, new districts were established in many cities, the most obvious is in Nuevis City, with eleven new republics along with new ministries, such as the Ministry of Cartography that specializes in cartography and the production of maps to sell on the international market. New additions have been made to the Ministry such as the construction of new offices on Luciusville and Telinn along with a future propaganda addition.

In the north of Chicago, multiple settlements have grew across the patch of land that was future Evanston. With the earlier expansion of the Republic into northern Illinois, the settlements have applied to join the Republic as a "incorporated territory". But with populist fervor sweeping the settlements for a fully unified city, a referendum was held by the National Republican Council in which 78% of the settlements' population voted for unification of the settlements and full status as a provincial city in the Republic, while only 22% voted for the separate settlements and fairly high level of autonomy in the Republic. The decision was made and around July 8, 2105 (according to the Orbis calendar), the territory of the settlements were fully incorporated into the Republic. Evanston was soon founded by a local leader of the settlements, John Evans the CCLXX, a successor to his great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather, John Evans. 

Meanwhile in the north of Evanston, Waukegan, a irrelevant settlement was incorporated into the Republic, through the expansion of the northern frontier towards southern Wisconsin, and the expansion of the south-eastern frontier, annexing Gary into the Republic with local support. Diplomatic relations were created between foreign nations such as the Rosewood Republic and the Siberian Black League, as well as the establishment of the Helen Missile Forces of the Republic after the Republic's first missile test. The Republic will continue to prosper as the glorious example of socialism in the Midwest region and the world.
