Matchday Two at the 2093 World Cup in Uwistan. The United Imperium versus Randamie. The Imperium was of course coming off a dominant 3-0 win against Bengal, while Randamie was coming off a shaky draw against Gavastek. With dominant performances from Balogun and Pulisic, TUIMNT was looking to cement their bid into the knockout stage, and the match against Randamie presented the perfect opportunity to do so. Would the national team rise to the challenge once more, or would Randamie deliver a shocker to the team?

The Imperium started to dominate from the get-go. The high press clearly overwhelmed the Randamie side in terms of intensity and tacticality. Every time Randamie took the ball into the Imperium half, the wing-backs and midfielders would shut down any attempt at attacking play. Sergino Dest was particularly impressive, making two crucial challenges early on which set the tempo for the team as a whole. Then, in the 10th minute, Dest would cross it into Reyna to break the deadlock between the two teams.

Dest down the near sideline, cuts back past his man... chips it into the box... Reyna with the header, saved! Pushed back into the field of play... ITS A MISFIRE! REYNA SCORES!!! WHAT A TERRIBLE ERROR BY THE GOALKEEPER, AND IN THE BIGGEST STAGE IN THE WORLD AT THAT! THAT'S THE FIRST FOR THE UNITED IMPERIUM!

For the most part, the rest of the first half was quiet. However, a rough collision between Weah and Van Dijk saw Weah get subbed off for Brenden Aaronson. In the 39th minute, a miscue by Cameron Carter-Vickers nearly led to a Randamie equalizer, but after VAR review, it was found that Thjis Schouten was offside, and the Imperium maintained their 1-0 lead going into the half.

Coming back out of the tunnel, the Imperium made a surprise substitution: Folarin Balogun got subbed off for Ricardo Pepi (although after the game, it was revealed that Balogun had sustained a hamstring injury and had no choice but to be subbed off). However, the substitution seemed to have worked: with Aaronson and Pepi revitalizing the offense, Randamie struggled to fend off the relentess slew of attacking plays that the Imperium made in the second half. Immediately, in the 46th minute, Pepi would score for the United Imperium to double the lead:

So, you have to question why Balogun was taken off... maybe just keeping him fresh, maybe some tactical errors? He did struggle towards the end of the first half, looked a little out of place and struggled to keep the offense moving... Anyway, here is Pepi, slipping by Van Dijk... GOALASSOOOOOOOO!!! RICARDO PEPI DOUBLES IT FOR THE IMPERIUM!!!

A volley from Aarsonson and a headed goal from Reyna off a corner would seal the 4-0 win against Randamie. It was a dominant showing, and it was later confirmed that with a draw between Socialist Republic of Gavastek and Bengal, the Imperium would clinch top spot in the knockout rounds. Interestingly, if Dreamistan takes second place in Group B, The Imperium National Team and the Dreamistani National Team will play each other for the first time in competitive play since 2073, when the Imperium last won the World Cup.

Around the league, Gio Reyna's brace has made him the tied top goal scorer along with Bruno Schiffler from host nation Uwistan (both players have two goals so far in this tournament). Across all the teams, the United Imperium is the highest scoring team and the team with the highest goal differential, having scored seven and having conceded zero (one of eight teams to do so this World Cup), for a goal differential of seven.

With the knockout rounds secured, will the Imperium go the distance or will they fall short once again? Only time will tell as the World Cup 2093 continues in Uwistan.

I agree. We speak American English. It’s a different dialect of English. Not that many differences, English is a lot more uniform than most other languages, but still. Call it football, we call it soccer, and to us anyways, that is correct, and I’m ranting about linguistics again aren’t I

That's why the Palau base was set up after the bombing because we had already left the region. Since you left rp and Nuked Iberia, we thought we might as well slide in (looking at when my bulletin was edited, you will see the original posting doesn't even mention Palau. It's only after you nuke Iberia in your latest bulletin that we added Palau as an addendum because the opportunity arose). It's not that hard to go from North Sumatra to Palau and build an airstrip and some basic C2, a contingent of military engineers could do it in a couple of hours. Nothing about this was godrp. If you hated the idea of us being in Palau that much, you should have maintained your military commitment to the region, but you very clearly didn't.

Screenshot of you leaving rp last night. Which is why when you dropped the new bulletin of yours about nuking Palau, I took the opportunity to take a quick trip and begin setting up our own installations (obviously with precautions in place because of radiation). Our North Sumatra facility was obviously much more permanent, and it wouldn't have been that hard to get a Globemaster, some supplies, and a few military engineers to set up a makeshift airstrip and rudimentary C2.

TL;DR none of this is Godrp, if you are mad about it maybe you should have done something with Palau after you nuked it.
