Basic Overview📔

United Northland Republic is an Islam Country located in North America and is one of the Western Countries geographically dominated by Islam and has a government system based on Islamic Law. Islam is the Official Religion in the United Northland Republic with the Sunni Denomination, the Percentage of Muslims in this Country reaches 77% consisting of 74% Sunni and 3% are Shia, while the rest are Christians and other Religions. Northland Dinar is the Official Currency of this Country printed by the Northland Central Bank. The country is known for its Totalitarian Islam Control, Mixed Economy between Islamic Socialism and Capitalism, Sharia and Zakat-based Finance, and Islamic Multi-Party Democracy. This country rejects all forms of Secularism and Liberal Democracy. The calendar system officially used in this country is the Hijri Calendar or Islamic Calendar which is currently in the year 1446 Hijri.

This country is state member and part of United Ummah

The Government System is a Federal Theocratic Islamic Republic with a Democracy Index reaching 4.12 and is classified as a Hybrid Regime.

Government Structure🏛️

The Federal Constitution of the United Northland Republic is the Basic Instrument that determines the Government and Political System of this Country, the Constitution regulates the Distribution of Powers of each Branch of Government, regulates the Role of Islam in the State, and regulates the Relations and Powers between the Federal Government and Subordinate Administrative Divisions. 

The Federal System in this Country is defined as a Centralized Federal where the Federal Government holds higher Power and Sovereignty than the Provinces, while the Provinces still have Autonomy as stipulated by the Constitution and are Semi-Autonomous. 

The Supreme Leader is the Head of State and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Northland Military Forces, also it designated as Chief of National Defense and Security Council.

The Supreme Leader is the First Highest Political Office in this Country and appoints the Federal Government and Executive Branch.

The Supreme Leader holds Supreme Authority and Power over Political and Religious Affairs in this Country and have almost-absolute power.

The Supreme Leader is appointed by the Supreme Ulema Council for a Life Term.

His Highness Joseph Wellington is current Supreme Leader, have been in office since 1430 Hijri.

The President is the Head of Government and Second-in-Command, President is also First Secretary of National Defense and Security Council.

The President is the Second Highest Political Office and Chairman of the Council of Ministers, the President leads the Federal Government and the Executive Branch under the Supreme Leader. 

The President is elected through a Presidential Election and serves for 5 years in 1 term, while the President can serve without a Term Limit.

The Honorable William Ibrahim Samuel is current President and have been elected since 1436 Hijri.

The Vice President is the Deputy Head of Government and Third-in-Command. also he's Second Secretary of National Defense and Security Council.

The Vice President is the Third Highest Political Office and Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers, the Vice President assists the President in running the Government and Administration, and provides Advice and Consideration to the President.

The Vice President is elected simultaneously with the President through a Presidential Election and serves for 5 years in 1 term, while the Vice President can serve without a Term Limit.

The Honorable Mahmoud Selim Turk is current Vice President and have been elected since 1436 Hijri.

The Council of Ministers is the Federal Cabinet and the Main Executive Organ. 

It consists of 40 Federal Ministries headed by Ministers together with Deputy Ministers and Secretaries of Ministries. The Council of Ministers is headed by the President together with the Vice President. Members of the Council of Ministers, namely Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and Secretaries of Ministries, are nominated by the President and appointed by the Supreme Leader unilaterally. the current Cabinet is William's Government, have been in power since 1436 Hijri.

Legislative Branch📜

Parliament is a bicameral legislative body in this country that is directly elected by the people through a legislative election held every 5 years, along with the presidential election. Parliament holds legislative power and is under the leadership of the Speaker of the Parliament 

the House of Senate is the Upper House of Parliament and consists of 365 Senators who are elected every 6 years with the First-Past-The-Post System. The House of Senate is chaired by the Speaker of the Senate who is elected through a plenary election by the House of Senate. This House functions and plays a role to represent regional interests at the federal level, this assembly has limited legislative power when compared to the Lower House.

the House of Representatives is the Lower House of Parliament and consists of 770 Representatives elected every 6 years through Legislative Elections with a Semi-Proportional Representation System. The House of Representatives is chaired by the Speaker of the House who is elected through a Plenary Election by the House of Representatives. This House functions and plays a role to represent the voice of the Public and the People, this Assembly has more dominant Legislative Power compared to the Upper House and is more active in the Legislative Branch. 

Parliament has the Function to draft Laws and ratify them together with the President, amend the Constitution together with the Supreme Leader, and oversee the Performance of the Federal Government. Parliament have Power to dissolve government with motion of no-confidence that need 2/3 Votes from both house, after motion of no-confidence passed, it need Supreme Leader's Approval to dissolve the Government and Supreme Leader can approve or veto it.

the Supreme Ulema Council is an Islamic Deliberative Body that exists simultaneously with the Parliament. The purpose of the Supreme Ulema Council is to maintain Islamic Tradition and ensure that every Government Action and Law passed remains in line with Islamic Sharia. The Supreme Ulema Council has the power to appoint the Supreme Leader with 2/3 of the Votes and can dismiss the Supreme Leader with 80% of the Votes from all Members if they are considered to have betrayed Islam or committed Extreme Crimes. The Supreme Ulema Council has a Membership of 400 Seats and is elected through Legislative Elections every 6 Years with a Non-Partisan First-Past-The-Post System. Unlike Parliament, the Supreme Ulema Council is Non-Partisan so that Members of the Council must not be affiliated with any Political Party.
