The First Order carefully concealed its military buildup within Orbis, avoiding detection by the New Republic while slowly amassing a powerful fleet and army. The First Order heavily relied on advanced technology derived from the old Empire, including new Star Destroyers and TIE fighters, and employed a highly disciplined and indoctrinated Stormtrooper army. The First Order's philosophy and military structure closely mirrored the Galactic Empire, reflecting a desire to return to the days of Imperial dominance.
