Snap Elections held; Result: Kristina Naufahu Win!

Parliament's snap elections to elect the nation's next Prime Minister has resulted in a major win for Interim Prime Minister Kristina Naufahu and the Conservative party. Following all formalities, Mrs. Naufahu appointment as Prime Minister has been confirmed by His Majesty with the charter to reform a coalition government, rebuild the economy, bolster National Defense, restore Nation's reputation on the international stage, and overall in doing so restore stability and the people's trust in government through accountability. With these tasks asked of her, Mrs. Naufahu accepted the King's appointment and has already set to work at the tasks at hand of reforming the cabinet and forming a unified government to tackle the tasks ahead in the interests of the Nation.

Prime Minister Naufahu addressed these issues from the steps of Hale o na Ali'i, the Official residence and office of the Prime Minister.

"Today I was asked by His Majesty, 'what can be done to bring stability and security for the people?' As the plight of the people has long been the growing concern for His Majesty following the divisiveness of party politics and ideologies which have fractured this country as never before seen, Administrative abuses and overreach that have caused a major International scandal following the SVS-92 Pandemic, and a near humanitarian crisis with the clashes between Ceresian Forces and the peoples of the autonomous territories of the North. 

There is much that has weighed heavily on His Majesty's mind concerning these issues that greatly affect the people, but His Majesty has maintained his faith in Democracy and Democratic government, refraining from utilizing his prerogatives, knowing that only a small few of the politically polarized extremes have been so vocal and influential on the average and more moderate elements of the people, but that Democracy still had a chance as the silent majority of fair and cooler minds of society would awaken, and that they have.

I told His Majesty today, that I would tackle these issues as I have done when serving as one of his longest serving Foreign Ministers. I will work together with all elements to build a fair and stable government to tackles the tasks ahead of and our primary goal will be to make this Country great again."
