The Philippines

With the collapse of the Transcendant Holy American high government and command chain, its colonial troops in the Philippines rapidly lost discipline, morale, and hope. Most forces surrendered with the promise of being free of harm, while some mutinied against the few officers who refused to surrender their units to the National Protection Army and the Pinay People's Defence Army (PPDA) and surrendered anyways.

Former soldiers of the Transcendant Holy American Empire have mostly been unharmed. The most skilled and nearly all of the military engineers of the Transcendant Holy American Empire in the Philippines have been recruited, either through bribery or coercion and or force, to the Republic of China to help the Chinese military develop more modern weaponry.

As the Transcendant Holy American Empire outside of its Filipino colony was landlocked, most of its navy was in the Philippines was in or in the vicinity of the Philippines, so logically they surrendered to the Chinese state due to its proximity and appreciation for the talented and skilled. The only Holy American aircraft carrier and all Transcendant Holy American ships taken by the Republic of China were studied and measured in extreme detail to aid the Chinese state in its construction of its first domestically produced aircraft carrier in decades and the construction of other naval vessels.

Even Transcendant Holy American firearms, rocket-propelled grenades, etc. were measured and studied. Tens of thousands of the hundreds of thousands of firearms have now been sent to the United Imperium and Raritania. Ballistic missiles and all documentation and information of the Transcendant Holy America Empire pertaining to its missiles found are to be used for furthering the development of the National Protection Army Rocket Force.

Democracy

The many long time insurgents who fought a relentless guerilla campaign against the Americans even before the Chinese campaign to liberate the Philippines have pledged their support for the Republic of the Philippines. The PPDA has temporarily become the new army of the Philippines.

As peace has been established, and hope placed in the hearts of the Filipinos, a provisional government has been established and preparations for the first election in decades have begun. Most old parties of the former Republic of the Philippines have been reestablished, mostly headed by former independence activists and guerilla leaders. The Nationalist People's Coalition, Nacionalista Party, National Unity Party, Liberal Party, Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, and the Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats have been reestablished with the help of Chinese advisors.

Chinese advisors have enforced strict firearms regulations, a firearms buyback campaign, and made sure that none of the reestablished political parties have paramilitary wings so as to avoid any potential political violence in the new and unstable republic. The provisional president of the Philippines, Andrés Panganiban, is a former independence activist who was in exile in Shanghai after staging a failed revolution and was only placed in a position of power as an administrator in Sulu after the Chinese occupation of Sulu.

The Chinese occupation and administration of Sulu, Bohol, Cebu, Negros, Iloilo, and Guimaras despite this has continued on, with a focus of using modern technology to increase agricultural output. The millions of Christian Chinese expelled to Bohol, Cebu, Negros, and Iloilo continue to work and live in the region. This has caused resentment by the local population, though instability and poverty and displacement caused by conflict has meant there have been no major protests.

After months, the National Protection Army has publicly released China's now additions to the BRE series, a series of guided rockets manufactured by Norinco, and the newest multiple-rocket launcher based on the old PHL-16, the PHL-17. There are the:

• 320m guided BRE9 rocket with a 150km range
• 380mm guided BRE10 rocket with a 250km range and a 30m CEP
• 750mm guided BRE11 rocket with a 370km range
• BRE11's export version called the Fire Dragon 500 with a 280km range and 30m CEP
• 380mm TL-8A anti-ship missile

Rockets

The National Protection Army has manufactured 500 PHL-17s and 500 old PHL-16s. The two share the same main role, to engage remote strategic targets, such as airfields, command centres, support facilities, air defence batteries, concentrations of troops, concentrations of vehicles, etc. The PHL-17 is a modular system, and can use pods with 380 mm or 320 mm guided rockets, Fire Dragon 500 tactical ballistic missiles and TL-8A anti-ship missiles.

The 380 mm rockets have a maximum range of 250 km. Each pod contains 4 guided rockets. The 300 mm rockets are smaller and have a maximum range of 150 km. Each pods contains 5 rockets.

This rocket system is operated by a crew of 4. The rockets or missiles can be launched without leaving the cabin. Preparation for launch takes around 5 minutes. Rockets and missiles can be also launched remotely from the vehicle by using remote control unit. Once the rockets are launched the launcher vehicle can leave its firing position within 1 minute.

Brief redeployment time allows to avoid counter battery fire and the armored cab provides some degree of protection for the crew from small arms fire and artillery shell splinters. The PHL-17 has good cross-country mobility and can travel over all kinds of rough terrain and unimproved surfaces, being able to operate in various climatic conditions, ranging from -20°C to +55°C.
