Tania launches cruise missile off the coast of Estoreasia

The Tanian Ministry of Defence has announced that it conducted a strategic cruise missile test over the Java sea, separating Estoreasia and the Tanian-occupied island of Borneo.

The Missile Force branch of the Armed Forces said that it had launched a single CX-1 short-range cruise missile from southern Borneo. The military reported that it travelled 160 miles across the Java sea, before dropping into the water off the coast of Estoreasia. General Wen Chao, Commander-in-Chief of the Tanian Strategic Missile Force, told Armed Forces TV that the missile had been disabled shortly before reaching Estoreasian territorial waters and went down before entering Estoreasian airspace.

Colonel Yang Feng refused to comment when approached. A spokesperson for the Chief Minister, Jiang Yen, said that the government had signed off on the test, which was conducted at 02:47 local time.

An hour ago, the Armed Forces confirmed that, as a result of diplomatic tensions initiated by the People's Theocracy of Estoreasia, 200,000 additional troops of the Tanian Ground Force had been mobilised to Borneo island. As of tomorrow, the total number of Tanian security forces on the island will be 350,000.

Furthermore, the Military Command Commission has told Armed Forces TV that the Commanders-in-Chief Committee of the Armed Forces, which will be chaired by Colonel Yang Feng, is meeting later today regarding the mobilisation of reserve troops and raising of the strategic alert level.

Admiral Xiao Ru of the Navy later confirmed that the Tanian First and Second Fleets had been deployed and have already left their ports on the East and North Coasts of the island of Taiwan. Both fleets have been directed to patrol the Karlmata Strait, Makassar Strait and the Java Sea.
