As global tensions and conflict begin to rise once again, this time over the Global Economic and National Defense Treaty (GENDT)'s blockade of the Suez Canal and Bab-el Mandeb Strait, the Republic of Luna has increased militarization and mobilized troops in preparation for upcoming conflict. Although the nation has previously avoided war at all costs, many believe that being ready for conflict is the right option.

"This time, war may be both necessary and inevitable," said Flynn Radcliffe, commander in chief of the Lunar military. "Dreamistan has long proven a hostile nation both to us and our close allies within the GENDT, and those nations who stand firmly on the Dreamistani side of this conflict are supporting a nation that has invaded and attacked others needlessly. A true warmonger indeed."

While some disagree with the idea of going to war again, and anti-war protests have begun in some cities, a poll taken on March 4 revealed that 78% of voting-age Lunar citizens feel that supporting allies specifically within this conflict is the best way to proceed as of right now.

President Aurelia Aquilla, who has become well-known throughout Orbis for recent anti-war sentiment, expressed the "urgent need for preparation" in a March 5 press conference.

"If you ask whether I think war is a good idea, I'll most likely say no, regardless of the circumstances. Of course, Luna has lost so much to war; we've lost so many good people and watched our cities burn to the ground a million times over, and all this only over the course of not even a decade. But whether it is necessary? Now, that is a different story," Aquilla said. "If things continue the way they are, we cannot be caught off guard yet again. We must be ready to defend both our allies and ourselves. In times like these, there is an urgent need for preparation, because in the end it could come down to who is more prepared to fight."

Luna has not yet sent any troops into active combat; the military awaits requests and orders from other members of the GENDT before any wars are declared or combat begins, although, with the current state of Orbis, many understand that active combat will likely begin in the near future.

"We will stand by our allies and defend ourselves and others against hostility and warmongering," Radcliffe said. "Although we have not sent any troops into the field just yet, mobilization and preparation are key, and when it is time, we will be ready."
