The white represents peace, the red represents blood, and the black represents the unknown future of the nation. The chi-rho represents the majority Catholic population that unites and inspires the nation.

History: The Nuevo Rio Grande Republica started after the three states of Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, and Tamaulipas cut ties with the central Mexican government, citing the lack of economic support and protection from cartels operating in the north. Once the Republic had secured independence through diplomatic deals and multiple skirmishes, the state of Texas also began discussions to join the Republic. The United States of America had been falling for a long time. Half of the state wanted free from the USA, while the other half wanted to keep its statehood. Wealthy American oligarchs had kept influence of the state, keeping it from joining the NRGR, but lost influence, most notably with the execution of billionaire Elon Musk in south Texas. After diplomatic influence from major Texas cities and rebellions from majority Hispanic counties, Most of South and Central Texas joined with the NRGR, forming the new state of Tejas. The country occasionally has local conservative and protestant insurrections, aiming to rejoin their respective nations, but are put down by local and national militias.
