Due to the illegal activities and research of the TerraGroup corporation, the Russian Federation Government created the Battle Encounter Assault Regiment (BEAR), a private military company tasked to uncover and dismantle the illegal activities of Terragroup, who were protected by another PMC known as United Security (USEC). 

 

 

This sparked the Contract Wars, which pitted these two PMCs against each other inside the Norvinsk Special Economic Zone, walled off by the UN and the Russian Armed Forces. After many civilian casualties and a diminishing number of USEC operatives, the BEARs took over the walled off region and claimed it as their own, renouncing their Russian directives and instating their own government, becoming a country of its own.

Now they seek to work on their own as a rogue agency, expanding their military influence and profiting off it.
