The Kingdom of Aerylia (formally The Most Serene and Sovereign Realm of Aerylia) is a corporatist monarchy founded in 1757 by the legendary Knight of Larion, who broke away from the decaying Kingdom of Larion in a divinely sanctioned rebellion. While often overlooked by republican revisionists, this founding marked the birth of a state destined for greatness. Under King Larius Mars, the realm reached continental supremacy, conquering the last of the orcish kingdoms and ushering in the Era of Expansion. Though momentarily seized by republican idealism from 2005 to 2104, Aerylia was triumphantly restored under Magnus Elyndor, descendant of Elyndria Charlotte, in the wake of a twelve-year uprising. Today, Aerylia thrives once more as a bastion of tradition, faith, and monarchical truth — an eternal flame reignited in defiance of a century of democratic delusion.
Etymology
The name Aerylia derives from the revered Sky Goddess Aeryla, one of the central figures in the Aerylian pantheon and divine daughter of Celeris, the Sun God. In the sacred tongue of the early Aerylians, the suffix -ia denotes "daughter of," while -ius denotes "son of" — thus, Aerylia quite literally means "Daughter of Aeryla."
History
Origins and Early Kingdoms
In 1710, the Kingdom of Larion faced devastation from a dragon known as the Ember Terror. An 18-year-old knight rose to prominence by defeating the creature, which then revealed itself as Arya, the last dragon, and pledged allegiance in humanoid form. Shortly thereafter, the knight secured peace with the Wind Elves following a series of abductions near the southern borders, uncovering bandit activity as the true cause. In recognition of his service, he was granted a fiefdom along a fertile river and founded Aerylon in 1714, named after the sky goddess Aeryla, which quickly grew under his stewardship.
From 1725, Aerylon led the defense and eventual conquest of the southern territories during the Great Orc War, repelling attacks and annexing lands from Glimmerveil after their refusal to expel orcish citizens. Continued campaigns against orc settlements culminated in the full subjugation of the region by 1749. Disputes with the Larion monarchy over governance of these territories erupted into civil war in 1750, with the knight and his Wind Elf allies, supported by Arya in dragon form, securing victory by 1756. In 1757, he formally founded the Kingdom of Aerylia, unifying diverse populations under efficient administration. He died peacefully in 1771, and Arya ascended to divine status, leaving his successor, Larius Mars, a prosperous and stable realm.
Era of Expansion (1772–1821)
Following the consolidation of Aerylia under Larius Mars (1772–1809), the realm entered a golden age of growth and influence. Through diplomatic acumen and martial prowess, Aerylia secured vital trade routes and established control over strategic territories, expanding its borders to include regions of significant economic and cultural importance. The monarchy’s wise stewardship fostered an environment of prosperity and unity, transforming the fledgling kingdom into a dominant power.
In 1773, a brief but intense religious conflict erupted between the Crown and Larionite factions who resisted the deification of Arya. The rebellion was swiftly crushed, resulting in the Treaty of Aemoran, which formally codified Aerylia’s religious laws, establishing Arya, Aeryla, and her daughters as the primary objects of worship and securing the monarchy’s authority over spiritual matters.
The Age of Unrest (1822–1875)
The 19th century saw growing agitation from elements within Aerylia dissatisfied with their lot in life, particularly those who failed to grasp the complexities of governance. Waves of uprisings erupted, driven by grievances over land ownership and perceived inequalities. While the monarchy acted swiftly and decisively to address these concerns—enacting reforms to redistribute land and establish protections for rural communities—agitators continued to sow discord. Despite these challenges, the monarchy maintained the integrity of the kingdom, demonstrating restraint and foresight in its handling of rebellion. Marius Elyndor (1809–1848) and Elyndria Felicita (1848–1885) oversaw these turbulent years, their leadership maintaining peace through strategic governance.
The Industrial Renaissance (1876–1934)
Under the monarchy’s enlightened direction, Elyndria Felicita (1848–1885) and Felicitius Alaric (1885–1918), Aerylia entered an unprecedented era of technological and industrial advancement. The creation of railroads, factories, and modern urban centers propelled the kingdom into the forefront of global innovation. These advancements were achieved without the haphazard experimentation that would characterize later republican mismanagement, as the monarchy ensured growth was balanced with cultural and social stability.
The First Republican Movement (1935–1943)
The first major attempt to overthrow the monarchy was a predictable failure, spearheaded by disorganized ideologues with no coherent vision for Aerylia’s future. Lacking the leadership, unity, or popular support necessary for success, the so-called “revolutionaries” managed only to create chaos. Alaricia Valeria (1918–1956), with her characteristic patience and resolute leadership, suppressed the rebellion with minimal bloodshed, demonstrating her commitment to the stability of the realm.
The Golden Monarchical Era (1944–2004)
The reign of Corvinia Seraphina (1978–2005) marked the zenith of Aerylia’s monarchical rule, characterized by political stability, economic growth, and cultural renaissance. Under her stewardship, the kingdom witnessed significant advancements in industry, infrastructure, and education, all of which propelled Aerylia into the ranks of the most prosperous and influential nations of the region. Yet, despite these successes, growing dissatisfaction with the increasing concentration of power in the monarchy and the aristocracy began to simmer beneath the surface.
The Republican Revolution (2005)
In 2005, after mounting public dissatisfaction and a series of widespread protests, the monarchy was overthrown, and the Republic of Aerylia was established, marking the end of centuries of royal rule. The revolution, spurred by both the growing influence of populist ideologies and frustrations over the monarchy’s perceived failure to modernize, was a significant turning point in the nation’s history. The initial optimism surrounding the republic promised a new era of equality, representation, and democratic governance, a stark departure from the centralized power of the monarchy. It was celebrated as a victory for the people, who believed they had finally liberated themselves from the grip of an out-of-touch royal elite.
The Republican Era (2005–2104)
While the initial years of the republic were marked by idealism and fervor, the reality soon set in as the republic struggled with mounting corruption, economic stagnation, and social unrest. Republican leaders, lacking the unifying force of a monarchy, failed to effectively govern, and factionalism became rampant within the newly formed government. Efforts to modernize the economy and implement social reforms were often mismanaged or blocked by competing political interests, further disillusioning the public. The once-promised age of equality and prosperity instead descended into a period of uncertainty, with political and economic instability dominating the national discourse. By the turn of the 22nd century, it was clear that the republic was not meeting the needs of Aerylia’s citizens.
The Restoration (2092–2104)
The period leading up to the Restoration (2092–2104) was marked by increasing unrest and dissatisfaction with the republican government, which had been in power for nearly a century. Protests broke out across the kingdom in 2092 as citizens grew disillusioned with the failed republican promises, as well as the growing inequality between the ruling political elites and the general population. Pro-republican and royalist factions clashed frequently, with many lamenting the loss of Aerylia's former glory under the monarchy. A growing movement, led by Magnus Elyndor, a distant descendant of Elyndria Charlotte—daughter of Marius Elyndor—began to rally for the restoration of the monarchy, citing the chaos and mismanagement of the current system.
As protests turned to open rebellion, the revolution culminated in the storming of the capital on June 4, 2104. After years of mounting pressure and sporadic armed uprisings, the republican government fell. The streets erupted in jubilation as Magnus Elyndor was declared king, and the monarchy was restored. In the months that followed, Magnus swiftly dismantled the remnants of the republican institutions and reestablished a monarchical government, promising to restore Aerylia to its former glory. The Restoration was celebrated by the majority of the people, proving that only a monarch could guide Aerylia to a prosperous future.
Geography
The Kingdom of Aerylia occupies a geographically diverse and richly blessed expanse of land, often described by royal chroniclers as “a realm shaped by gods and honed by kings.” From the high mountain citadels once ruled by the orc warlords to the lush riverlands now tamed by civilization, Aerylia’s terrain reflects the legacy of conquest and divine favor. The capital city, Aerylon, lies astride a verdant river delta — a sacred convergence of water and land said to be the breath of Aeryla herself. This fertile heart links the nation’s great urban centers, including Drakarion, the mountain bastion of the old orc strongholds, and Saleron, a city nestled along the coast where trade and culture bloom.
Aerylia’s borders also encompass the ancient forests once home to the Wind Elves, their groves now interwoven with human settlements and royal hunting grounds. These arboreal regions are not only sites of natural beauty but living remnants of the Crown’s benevolent integration of diverse peoples under one banner — though republican apologists might prefer the term “annexation.” Regardless, the land remains as unified as its purpose: enduring under the will of sky and sovereign.
Climate and Topography
Aerylia enjoys a predominantly temperate climate, with four distinct seasons that nourish its fertile plains and sustain its agricultural supremacy. The river delta surrounding Aerylon ensures plentiful harvests, while mild coastal breezes and the protection of the northern mountains preserve the realm from harsh extremes. Forested lowlands dominate the central and western regions, especially near the former Wind Elf enclaves, while the eastern highlands are marked by jagged peaks and fortified mountain cities — grim trophies of orcish defeat and royal engineering.
Inland lies a modest steppe, often dismissed by bureaucratic republicans as "unproductive," but historically vital for cavalry training and seasonal migration. Far from being barren, it is a testing ground for resilience, echoing the Crown’s values of endurance and adaptability. All in all, Aerylia's landscape is as storied and noble as its throne, a canvas upon which centuries of divine guidance and sovereign rule have painted civilization.
Politics
Government
Aerylia is a corporatist monarchy, with the Archon serving as the hereditary head of state and concurrently holding the office of Minister of Foreign Affairs. The legislative process is overseen by the Sovereign, an elected official with final authority on lawmaking, although the Archon retains the ability to enact any law rejected by the Sovereign. The bicameral legislature consists of the Guilds, representing professional, industrial, military, and clerical sectors, and the Advisory Council, composed of the nation’s top politicians, economists, and scientists. The Guilds draft legislation, while the Advisory Council reviews, revises, and recommends bills; a law may only be vetoed twice by the Sovereign before it automatically passes.
Provincial governance is mostly democratic, though select districts operate under special administrations reflecting historical, strategic, or cultural importance. The judiciary functions independently to enforce laws under the Archon’s supreme authority. Executive ministries include Information, Social Services, Infrastructure and Transport, Economy, Foreign Affairs, and Law and Order, coordinating the daily functions of the state. National elections for the Guilds are limited to employed citizens, with seats reserved proportionally based on each sector’s contribution to the economy, while the Advisory Council remains strictly appointed. Succession follows absolute primogeniture, though Parliament may authorize the Archon to designate an alternative heir in exceptional circumstances.
Foreign Affairs
The Kingdom of Aerylia is a member of the alliance Weebunism and is part of any blocs said alliance is a part of. Archon Magnus Elyndor is also a member of the military command of said alliance.

Military
The Aerylian Armed Forces operate under the supreme command of the Archon, ensuring the Crown’s direct oversight over all strategic and tactical operations. The military is divided into three branches: the Royal Army, led by Sakura Francesca Sakamoto; the Royal November Airfleet, under Yuki Margot Maruyama; and the Automata Navy, commanded by Reina Jeanne Yamato. In a distinctive departure from traditional forces, Aerylia relies on mech suits and power armor instead of conventional vehicles, reflecting both technological innovation and the monarchy’s emphasis on personal valor and battlefield supremacy.
The Armed Forces also hold permanent representation in the Guilds, reinforcing their role in both national defense and legislative oversight. Historically, Aerylian troops have been pivotal in consolidating the kingdom’s borders, integrating conquered territories, and suppressing uprisings — tasks accomplished with precision and loyalty to the Crown. Republican critics frequently lament the military’s influence, yet the enduring security and continental preeminence of Aerylia serve as undeniable proof of the necessity of a disciplined, centralized, and technologically advanced armed force.
Economy
Aerylia maintains a state-guided corporatist economy, with industry and trade closely coordinated through the Guilds, which represent key professional, industrial, military, and clerical sectors. Strategic sectors such as manufacturing, energy, and transportation are overseen by specialized ministries, ensuring that economic growth aligns with national priorities and the Crown’s vision. Labor participation is both a duty and a privilege, with employed citizens granted voting rights for the Guilds, reinforcing a direct connection between productive contribution and political influence.
The economy thrives on a blend of advanced technology and traditional industries. Mech manufacturing, power armor production, and infrastructure development are national priorities, creating both domestic stability and export income. Agricultural regions benefit from intensive river delta management and forest stewardship, while mining and mountain settlements provide critical raw materials. Republican experiments with laissez-faire systems historically led to instability and corruption, underscoring the monarchy’s role as the guarantor of orderly, sustainable growth. Aerylia’s economic model emphasizes merit, loyalty, and service, rewarding citizens whose labor supports the prosperity and security of the realm.
Demographics
As of 2115, Aerylia has an estimated population of 8.8 million, with roughly 20% Larionites—the descendants of the original human settlers of the old Kingdom of Larion—and 80% Aerylian, encompassing all other groups who have integrated into the state. The population is overwhelmingly urbanized around key trade and industrial centers, though significant rural and mountainous communities maintain traditional economic and cultural practices.
The Aerylian language is the sole official language, serving as a unifying tool for governance, commerce, and culture. The state actively promotes Aerylian Pantheism, centered on the Sky Goddess Aeryla, her daughters Melusine and Elune, and the deified dragon queen Arya, with worship of the remaining 14 Larionite gods permitted only privately. Wind Elves enjoy religious freedom throughout the realm, though most adopt the state-sanctioned orthodoxy. Public devotion outside this sanctioned hierarchy is prohibited, reinforcing unity and moral order under the Crown’s guidance.
