Once a agrarian, feudalistic nation, the grand duchy of Monarchia was a small country carried on the backs of a massive peasant class, that over the decades was gradually exploited more and more, and with the world progressing outside their borders, it was not going to be long before the coutry was embroiled in a tumultous period of revolutionary action that culminated in a brief civil war, seeing the powers of the existing royalty massively reduced, that was proposed to see the levers of power distributed among the populous as a new federal republic. This however, was not the case. The society that rose up from the old was as much a dictatorship as the last, only with the power distributed along the lines of capital rather than bloodlines. With the nation now industrialising, new technologies soon made their ways into the hands of the populace. Gunpowder. Metallurgy. Telecommunications. And with the peasantry forced into cities, into inhumane working conditions, it was a powder keg waiting to explode. The Federal Republic of Monarchia was only in existence for a few decades, and already was on the precipice of destruction as unions formed and demands went unmet.

This next time, there would be no peace. When the call to arms sounded from the factories of the capital, it resounded in the countryside, and across the nation. The new rallying cry was one of total revolution, a complete destruction of ownership, a new regime, where the levers of power would rest firmly in the hands of the people. An end to exploitation, a national effort towards the common good. And so, the Socialist Republic of Monarchia was born.
