The San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station which was decommissioned in 2013, was brought back to life yesterday. While all the equipment from the old reactors had been removed from the plant during its initial decommissioning, the Gale & Barak Electric Company (GBE) were able to cut cost by re-purposing the previously built buildings including the two distinctive concrete domes. “This nuclear power plant is key in our bigger plan to ensure consistent power to the Pacific States” said Lisa Thomas, spokesperson for GBE. “Re-booting this plant had been a dream of ours for a long time. Now, with engineering assistance from our new friends on the east coast, we are finally able to make it a reality. We would never have been able to accomplish this if it wasn't for the re-unification.”

Governor John Chauncey spoke at the commissioning ceremony and also praised the re-unification. “The re-unification of America is not just a symbolic act as many of my critics would like say. Today, I am standing in front of tangible evidence that by working together we will make our nation better for everyone.”

The new reactors will provide 3 GW of power to the cites of San Diego and Oceanside and their over 200,000 residents.
