The collapse of the export industry has inflicted heavy repercussions on Areulia, with tens of thousands losing their jobs overnight as hundreds of company go bankrupt. This is following the collapse of the American market, which has been a large importer of Areulian goods for awhile, being the focus of many companies. 

However, suprisingly, while the automobile and electronics manufacturing industries are on the decline, economists reported that the stocks and sales of companies that produce military equipment are on the rise. Notably, sales made by CAFIND Aeronautics made a significant jump due to it's commissions of the F/E-18. PaciSteel Corporation has also left it's mark, with it being contracted to build multiple destroyers and frigates. It is suspected that the reason for this event is due to rising tensions around the globe and the high quality of Areulian produced equipment.

The government announced that more subsidies will be provided to these companies in order to further create jobs and bolster Areulian defence capabilities while capitalizing on the world's increasing demand on defence. Many, so far, are supportive of this move as courses in engineering are becoming increasingly popular while defence companies continue to give out internships. It is also worth noting that the Areulian GDP is slowly recovering from the activity of these defence companies.

Magnificent news recently came from analysts, food prices across Areulia are dropping and it is said that this trend will continue. Many have celebrated this news as food prices have been violently fluctuating in Areulia, mainly as the nation depends on imports for food due to the lack of an agricultural industry, caused by a lack of space. The government has also barely imposed tariffs, further reducing the prices of the imported foods.

It is suspected that this trend is occuring as Areulia is increasingly securing more and more trade deals related to food, particularly with La Plata, Victoria and the Transvaal Republiek. The government plans to further increase the diversity of food imports to avoid relying on only one supplier, a fatal mistake. Notably, the government has indicated that it will increase trade deals with Johore mainly for it's fruits industry as the climate there suits such agricultural activities.

Previously, Areulian had station a naval fleet in Haiti, intending to limit Mundusian expansion in the Carribean as it threatens near by A&PSA reserved territory. However, the nuclear war between The United Imperium and the Soviet Federation had forced the fleet out the region due to radiation concerns.

In it's absence, a notable enemy of Areulia, New Bermudas, had expanded rapidly, claiming islands left and right, even reaching the pacific in a bold move until they were pushed back by A&PSA forces. This has only served to prove that Areulian withdrawal from the region was an understandable yet horrible mistake.

To make up for it, 2/3 of the fleet in Italy, wich  totals at 2 cruisers, 4 destroyers, 2 submarines, 2 amphibious assault ships, 15 multirole jets, 40 tanks and 4500 soldiers has been vectored towards Haiti once more. As of the writing of this article, the fleet is currently crossing the Mediterranean and is expected to take 1 month and 12 days to reach its destination.

Trade Deals With The Transvaal Republiek

As part of the government's plan to tackle food prices and make up trade deficits, the government has signed multiple trade deals with the Transvaal Republiek, with notably food being listed as a priority. It is estimated that the agricultural produce of Transvaal would be able to sustain the whole of Areulia, however the government remains cautious and insists on importing from other suppliers due to cost and dependency issues.

On the export side, Areulia has agreed to begin exporting electric vehicles to Transvaal as it is reportedly becoming a craze amongst the populous. To support this move, multiple automobile companies have prepared to set up branches in Transvaal which would further expand the Areulian export market and possibly stabilize the economy.
