The capital of the Dutch Republic has officially been moved away from the old city of Amsterdam. The government decided that Amsterdam was situated too closely to the coast. Apeldoorn lays far away from the coast, and thus is the perfect city to host the government. The city of Apeldoorn went from a mid-size city in the middle of Gelderland, to the bustling capital of the Netherlands. The President and Prime Minister's homes are both located there now, and the government has taken her seat in a new and expanded building. The city is evergrowing with new shops and businesses opening every day, making the protection of the city vital.
The Prime Ministers house, Presidential Mansion and Parliament Building all have nuclear bunkers under them, and there's also many (nuclear) bomb shelters spread throughout the city for the normal folk. The city has been fitted with the best radar systems technology can offer, to warn us early of any attack. There's also modern anti air systems in place, as well as radar jammers and electronic warfare systems to protect the city to the best of our ability.
The future of the Republic looks bright, as by miracle the nuclear fallout from the recent world war has not hit the Netherlands. The Great Unknown has exempted the Dutch Republic from the world's petty stuff, which includes this nuclear war. He spoke to President Visser and told him to continue his storylines as planned. Long live Apeldoorn!
Special Military Operation in Valoriana

On August 10th, at 00:00, the Dutch Republic has declared a special military operation in Valoriana citing the domino effect and secret Valorianan operations in Dutch lands as the cause. The 2e Pantserdivisie (20,000 soldiers) (2nd Armored Division) had previously been mobilized to perform the operation, but the Dutch Republic sees it neccesary to mobilize further units. The remainder of Field Command unit "Drees" has been mobilized, which includes the 3e (Gemechaniseerde) Infanteriedivisie (22,000 soldiers) (3rd Mechanized Infantry Division) and the 1e Luchtlandingsdivisie (18,000 soldiers) (1st Paratrooper division). In addition to this, the Elite Armored Division "President" (20,000 soldiers) has also been mobilized. It was decided for Pantserdivisie "President'' would lead the operation.
At 01:00, the first units of the division crossed the border, accompanied by several bombing runs on Valorianan border targets. Border security along the Dutch border was weak, as most military units were busy fighting the Victorians. This let the Dutch forces perform a large blitz into Valoriana, with the Valorian Forces being forced to retreat to secure positions. During their retreat, Valorian forces left behind a trail of death and despair, as Dutch forces found entire families: men, women and children executed by communist forces. They had visible tattoo's on their heads that said: "! Capitalist Scum !" It is unclear whether these tattoo's were forced upon the victims while they were alive or after their execution. The total death toll has been estimated to be 450, in the initially captured lands alone.

Prime Minister Kuijper has expressed disgust over the executions. "These communists have indiscriminately executed entire families, and it is apparant that they will not stop until all people that don't agree with the system dead. This has only made more clear that communism is an evil ideology, which has no place in the developped Western Europe."
The Dutch military will not attack foreign forces, as long as they're clearly identifiable and they don't pose a threat to Dutch forces. Should they even so much as point their rifle at a Dutch soldier, they will be treated as a regular combatant and shot. The Dutch Republic does not take kindly to threats by foreign nations, so let this be clear: the liberation of Valoriana is our goal, don't see your country get destroyed over Alsace-Lorraine, because the Dutch Republic will retaliate against any attack on it's forces.
Italian Dictator Bones Arrive in the Netherlands

Dutch Prime Minister Daan Kuijper has received a very special gift from the Chinese government. What to the naked eye might seem like just some old bones, are actually bones belonging to a certain Italian dictator who lived long ago. Rumors were that he was revived in the 2080s and made Emperor of Manchuria. It appears there's more truth to those rumors than was previously thought. Mr. Kuijper has donated the bones to Dutch scientists, who will perform experiments on them. They will try to either create a clone of the man, or an AI and body similar to Elvis Presley's in the NEC.
Time will tell if any results will be achieved, but scientists are hopeful that this project will advance science for good.
