You're Listening to Radio Rimskaya on 191.7!

Recently Established by the I.S.C.U. Party as the State Radio Broadcaster, Radio Rimskaya is dedicated to bringing you objective news from across our union of republics. As Radio Rimskaya is funded and operated by the state, our broadcasts are fully open to the international public, and intend on giving the world a Rimskayan outlook on society.

We will begin broadcasting today with the State Anthem.

Good afternoon comrades across Rimskaya, thanks for tuning in to Radio Rimskaya! I'm your host Dimitri and today we have a very important announcement coming from the Capital.

After much deliberation amongst the I.S.C.U. Party Congress, it has been resolved that, given the nature of Orbis, we will be officially taking a new stance on our Socialist State.

Seeing as the International Proletarian Revolution is currently not a possibility due to the strength of the nation-state system imposed upon the countries of Orbis, Rimskaya has concluded that the only way she can survive and make a lasting impact is to flow with that system until it begins to break down.

Therefore, the Party has officially proclaimed as of July 20th, 2098, that Rimskaya will be adopting a "Democratic Juche" ideology. This policy is in part reclaimed from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, which the Party resolutely recognizes as a Stalinist state, however, there are numerous aspects that will serve Rimskaya well in this new transition. Some of the changes are as follows:

  • There will be an internal Party election to determine a new executive, who shall be given the title of "Premier". This Premier will serve indefinitely, only removable by a vote of the Party Congress, a country-wide referendum, a criminal act, or through his/her/their/(etc.) death.
  • State symbolism will be changed in part to reflect this new policy. The state flag has been confirmed as something that will remain as it is.
  • Regional industrialism and agricultural expansion will be conducted in every province of the country. The Premier will personally oversee and guide the largest projects, appointing those he sees as confident to assist him in the task of leading and developing the state.
  • As we are no longer seeking total international unity, the army is officially being removed from its defense-only duty, and will now have full permission to conduct offensive warfare against targets approved by the Premier. The Party has decided that these do not constitute "imperialist actions" as they shall only be reasonable conducted against ideological threats to the Socialist State.

This is by no means the complete list of what will be changing, and the Party anticipates many alternations will be needed very early on. However, they have confirmed that social life as it is now will likely not be impacted short-term. Only once major development has begun will the government begin to call upon the population for support.

In other news, the Party has completed its rebranding of Aequitas, which as of this time has been converted into an extension of the young Westnern Republic. According to the former superiors, Aequitas will now serve as a "traning alliance" for countries to learn the ropes of being in an alliance, before being graduated off to the Western Republic.

The Party has decided that it will uphold this task to the best of their ability, and have publicly ensure that, despite the change in symbolism and scenery, Aequitas remains a symbol of "publicly accepted institutions of a democratic society", acknowledging that it cannot serve as an ideological breeding ground.

The Party has authorized a major advertising program that will be initiated in the coming weeks to preapre Aequitas for its new role.

That's all for now comrades, you're listening to Radio Rimskaya on 191.7! Stayed tuned for a special report from the island of Hispaniola, where environmentalist groups explain their reasons for blocking development crews from working in rural parts of the province.
