Sedrosia achieves victory in Italy - Formation of the Venetian Sedrosian Republic!

The quick operation in the Italian peninsula has gone well. With the complete collapse of any remaining Sanctian government structure and complete anarchy reigns. And while the Italian Confederation has continued to try and fight against the Sedrosian Empire and to some minor extent the Greeks and Sanctian remnants. However, massive divisions in the confederation, coupled with the continued victories of the Sedrosian and allied Italian forces, has seen the federation start to crumble. 

With growing support, the Venetian lands and Libya quickly voted to join the Sedrosian Empire. With Libya voting overwhelmingly in support of joining their brothers in North Africa and unifying Libya under one banner. And the Venetian Republic, which had previously joined the Italian Confederation and then Sanctias, has also voted to rejoin the union. With the administrative building in the city of Venice raising up the old flag once again flying over the city. The bright red and green colors glistening in the sun. Bells and celebrations have taken place, with families celebrating the reunification and others still hoping for peace. 

With the Venetian Republic, along with other Sanctian remnants joining the Venetians, have started to rebuild the damages that the collapse of the government had brought. With Sedrosian aid, support, and building materials flooding in, as well as volunteers and workers to help rebuild the damaged cities. Meanwhile, continued fighting in the north was taking place, with Sedrosian forces, and Italian partisans fighting in the Alps. And while the Confederation saw some success, launching surprise attacks before retreating into the mountains, the flat open plains just to the south gave Sedrosian tank crews and soldiers greater control, beating back the smaller and poorly equipped Confederation forces. (Many of which using older weapons and equipment as most Sanctian weaponry had either been previously captured, lost, or given to the Greeks.)

Eventually, after continued losses, and the news of Genoa falling to Sedrosian Marines, caused many in the Confederation to have enough. The people began revolting calling for the unification of the north. Many member states quickly switched sides, joining the Venetian Republic, or otherwise allying with the Sedrosians. Eventually, with all collapse of the Confederation and their forces, they remaining few states surrendered. With only a few pockets of rebels remaining in the region, retreating into the mountains or integrating into society. And thus, the second Italian Campaign ended, and the remaining Italian states joined the Venetian Republic.

With much debate on how the integration of the republic taking place in Parliament, no one knew for sure what to do with the region. Would they join as a protectorate? a colony? maybe annexed directly into the homeland? Eventually, the decision was made to make the republic a part of the Empire as a dependency of the crown. Which grants the Venetian Senate to make local laws over the region, while governance and other affairs were to be handled by the Sedrosian government. Emperor Sedrosylov was also crowned the defender, emperor, and head of state of the Venetian Republic. And the head of government, Governor Giorgia Franco, being elected and approved by the Sedrosian government.

Currently, changes in the region have taken place, with governmental, economic, and social influences being adapted. And now, a new chapter in Sedrosian, Italian, and world history has begun. And may that future be bright and prosperous for all.

Update: The countryball comic is under way. However, with the amount of responses, and the daunting number of countryballs needed to be made, some delays have happened. With my time divided on school, work, other responsibilities, and other bulletins the comics may not get posted until the end of the week at the earliest. However, the comics will be finished eventually and will be posted as promised, just not knowing when.
