The History of Beckonia (1699–2025)
Beckonia was founded in 1699 by a group of exiles, dreamers, and free-thinkers who broke away from a decaying empire across the sea. They settled the land with visions of independence and equality—but those dreams were quickly hijacked by King Alaric I, a ruthless monarch who ruled through violence, surveillance, and fear. His regime was defined by forced labor camps, racial segregation, and absolute control.
In The Great Overthrow of 1746, after decades of suffering, the people fought back. A revolutionary militia led by former royal general Kira Thorne launched a full-scale coup. After weeks of fighting and the Siege of Eldara, Alaric I was captured and executed. Rather than turning to democracy, Thorne established a military dictatorship—not out of ambition, but out of a belief that strong, centralized leadership was the only way to rebuild a fractured nation.
Her rule shocked the world, not just for its structure, but for its values. In The Expansion of 1748, Thorne abolished slavery, opened the military to women and people of all ethnicities, and launched a massive westward expansion campaign. Cities were built, trade routes formed, and Beckonia became a force to be reckoned with. Thorne’s dictatorship didn’t crush the people—it unified them.
Over the next century, Beckonia grew in strength. In The War of the Shattered Alliance (1813–1817), the Federation of Vireen launched an invasion over control of the Mirath River. General Cyrus Vale led a legendary counterattack, turning the tide and forcing Vireen to surrender. Vale became a national hero, and the dictatorship earned even greater loyalty from its people.
In 1895, internal conflict struck again. The Red Sun Rebellion, a monarchist uprising aiming to bring back royal rule, briefly plunged the nation into chaos. But the government’s elite Skyguard Unit swiftly ended the rebellion, reinforcing public trust in the regime. The dictatorship was adjusted—not relaxed. Political parties were banned, but so were poverty and corruption. Education was free, housing guaranteed, and equality enforced. Life under dictatorship wasn’t oppressive—it was structured, safe, and stable.
During the Shadow Conflict (1942–1948), Beckonia fought a secret war of espionage and proxy battles against the Technarch Confederacy. The conflict went unacknowledged by both nations, but ended with Beckonia expanding its influence and gaining covert control of key border territories. The regime’s reputation as brilliant and precise only grew.
By the 2000s, Beckonia had transformed into a technological utopia with strict—but benevolent—oversight. Unlike many authoritarian states, Beckonia’s rulers focused on citizen happiness. The people had food, safety, jobs, and national pride. Dissent wasn’t punished—it was redirected through dialogue, education, and policy adjustment.
In 2025, the country remains a thriving, advanced nation with one of the most loyal populations on Earth. The streets are clean, the schools are full, and the military remains a respected part of daily life. Beckonia’s people aren’t just content—they’re proud. They believe in their nation, their history, and most of all, their leader:

The Beckonian armed forces were formed following the great overthrow of 1746 then the group was formed mainly of farmers and fishermen who participated as militia and minute men in the overthrow. Most of their farms were burned and docks flooded or scraped for the war effort. The Beckonian dictatorship expanded rights to other genders and ethnic groups to join in the expansion of 1748. In 1823 the Beckonian government made manditory military service to combat drug, alcohol, and other substance abuse. This law was only enforced by 1830 punishable by death for desertion. After the war of '25 Beckonian forces and population became severely diminished. The Military still stands and is currently rebuilding. |
