Geography | |
Continent: | South America |
Land Area: | 241,907.94 sq. km |
Terrain: | What was once a perfectly normal island now is a landscape of craters. Craters forming lakes, craters overlapping other craters, craters covered over with military bases deep within, craters underwater. Disturbed terrain forms geologically absurd patterns of mountains and crags. The dirt, such as it is, cannot be safely walked on without extremely thick and sturdy boots. Empyreans usually wear thin armor plates even between the soles and the treads of their combat boots due to the ubiquitous, and sharp, metal wreckage that has completely mixed in with the soils. |
Highest Peak: | , 0 meters |
Lowest Valley: | , 0 meters |
Climate: | The climate of Empyrea has not been touched by war, but rather pollution. As the Empyreans have long since abandoned all pretense of surface habitation, the clouds are perpetually blackened by soot and the sky remains a dead channel. The surface temperature is far higher than it would otherwise be even for a tropical southeast pacific island, and special equipment is usually used to traverse the surface battlefields in person. The underground areas are much tamer due to environmental controls, though of course still underground and thus have their own issues. |

Economy | |
Description: | Other than military expeditions sent on missions topside, all Empyreans live deep underground. There, vast hydroponic farming complexes and mining operations sustain their limited and intensely martial economy. |
Average Yearly Income: | $194.63 |
Gross Domestic Product (GDP): | $10,531,141,587.00 |
GDP per Capita: | $1,115.83 |
Gross National Income (GNI): | $7,205,217,530.00 |
Industries: | Most lead is not actually mined from the ground, but rather recovered from the constant battlefields of the surface. Oil shale and bauxite minerals are mined directly and processed underground, with long armored smokestacks connecting to the surface and expelling the noxious byproducts of the industries below. |
Military | |
History: | The rank and file of both the E.T.F and the E.D.F branches are largely semi-autonomous mechanoids, similar in stature to humans but controlled remotely from deep underground bunkers staffed by the most hardened veterans of the endless wars Empyrea wages. These bunkers rarely see action, but the fact that even the most junior of the janitorial staff there have over ten years of direct, often personal combat experience coupled with the regular rotations between remote combat and support duties prevents complacency in general. |
