Military
History: The Armed forces were established in 1918 after the creation of the Czechoslovak Republic. After the fall of fascism in Europe, the army returned to Czechoslovakia. The Czechoslovak Army was renamed to Czechoslovak People's Army after the communists got to power. After the fall of communism in 1989, the Czechoslovak government decided to strengthen its military grip across the country. From that point on, the army has been severely demobilized in 2000-2001.
