Koalaopia

Koalaopia, officially known as the People's Free Republic of Koalaopia, is an East Asian country. (Other information has already been mentioned above)

History

Prehistory

Archaeological evidence indicates that early novlas inhabited Koalaopia 6.9 million years ago. The novla fossils have been dated to between 694,200 and 874,500 years old.

Early Rule

Koalaopia was founded on July 6, 2096, and is ruled by Chief Officer TexpoKOALA. Communist democracy is practiced. The government focused on city development, so the GDP increased during the early stages of the nation. Koalaopia has also won numerous wars with immense triumph, so citizens have a strong faith in their government. Thus, the early days of Koalaopia were prosperous. 

Koalaopia joined the Empire of the Romans alliance on July 18, 2096, gaining access to a wealth of resources. Despite the 80% tax rate, the alliance significantly benefited Koalaopia's military and infrastructure. This led to the militarisation of Koalaopia.

Environment

Koalaopia's rapid industrialisation resulted in environmental degradation and pollution in the early 2090s. Regulations such as the 2096 Environmental Protection Law are fairly stringent, and the pollution index can drop to zero.

Koalaopia has prioritised pollution control, resulting in a significant decrease in air pollution by the 2090s. The Koalaopian government announced that the country intends to become carbon-neutral by 2100 in accordance with the Paris Agreement, which, according to Climate Action Tracker, would reduce the expected rise in global temperature by 0.2-0.3 degrees, "the largest single reduction ever estimated by the Climate Action Tracker."

Government and politics

In Koalaopia, there were three power hierarchies: the legislature represented by the Chief Officer of Koalaopia, the government represented by the Council of Ministers, and the Communist Party of Koalaopia (CPK), the country's only legal party and final policymaker.

Communist Party

The Central Committee, elected at Party Congresses and Conferences, was the Communist Party's highest authority. In turn, the Central Committee elected a Politburo, Secretariat, and General Secretary (the de facto highest office in Koalaopia). Depending on the extent of power consolidation, either the Politburo as a collective body or the General Secretary, who was always a Politburo member, effectively led the party and the country. They were not controlled by the general party membership because the key principle of the party organisation was democratic centralism, which required strict subordination to higher bodies, and elections went uncontested, with candidates proposed from above.

The Communist Party maintained its power over the state primarily by controlling the appointment system. The CPK included all senior government officials as well as the majority of Chief Offier's deputies. Primary party organisations oversaw and, in some cases, replaced lower-level institutions.
