TUFM is a Coalition of 3 former separate post-Colonial States located in the Artic Ocean. The 3 island states were previously colonised by European Nations during and the imperial era and were united during the July Revolution of 2010.
The previous colonies were:
Albion - An British Colony in the South, closest to the Russian Mainland. This Was a reasonably small Colony until the end of the 19th Century were an influx of immigrants from the Great Britain, Ireland and the Southern United States due to the Rich and Fertile fields, and Iron deposits.
Kola - Originally a Soviet Era Colony. The Central of the 3 main islands with vast Steppes for farming and large rolling forests which offer a large wood resource. This was originally a Soviet Penal Colony however once Albion began to flourish, the Soviet Union started to pay more attention, moving mining and industrial equipment to the location and building up the Ports to the south.
Aasa - The Northern most Island and formerly a Colony and trading past that was occupied by Norwegian Settlers. The island is extremely Mountainous and the weather harsh, there is no fertile farming land. there are however extremely rich Iron ore Seams as well as Uranium deposits making the location perfect for mining.
The three separate Colonies remained completely alone in trade and such until the late 20th century when The Soviet, then Norwegian and finally British Colony all claimed independence in the space of a year. Shortly afterwards a Military Coup in The republic of Kola spread North and South and all islanders were united under a single Banner, the Republic of Haven.
The repuplic of Haven continued under the rule of a President James Creen for approximately 15 years. There was widespread corruption in the Public Sector and with rule in general and this culminated with invasion of West Tuddenham, in which the Creen attempted to divert poor public opinion towards a more patriotic output There government controlled every aspect of peoples lives. There were no free elections and the secret police, known as the Herald, would arrest people for minor infractions and they would not be seen again. However this failed and when conscription was introduced to counter the heavy losses in the invasion of West Tuddenham and soon the former British Colony of Albion rebelled, quickly followed by the other two.
A Bitter civil war began in which President Creen used Nuclear Weapons against his own country, this sparked the final revolution when even members of his own cabinet could no longer support him. The Revolution began on the 9th of February 2010, the day following the Nuclear attack and spread quickly, first through the Haven armed forces before normal citizens began taking up arms.
On the 1st of July 2021, elements of the Free Haven Army assaulted the Parliament building in Armford City. Creen and the few surviving members of his cabinet were captured and were handed over to the Provisional Government which was setup under Field Marshall Archer, former Commander of the Haven Army.
That evening, the revolution was declared complete it was declared all men and women were free to vote how they wished, to live how they wished and to co-exist. Free, snap elections were planned for the following day. A shaky peace treaty was drawn up with West Tuddenham and what forces had been deployed were quickly brought home. The Herald was disbanded and the Army, Navy and Air Force were dissolved - their members given the choice to re-join the new, Peoples forces.
The following day, people from the Haven went to the polls, and voted in a landslide for a Socialist Government which would be controlled by a Central Council, with a Supreme Socialist at its head. Further Sub committees would emerge throughout this in Union, and that Union was for all Freemen.
Communes would be established rather than Cities, were people could live freely - Armford City was renamed Armford Commune. Taxes were stabilised and lowered and a National Insurance Scheme was setup. A welfare system was introduced and 4 enshrined rights were given to the people. 1) The Right to Food. 2) The right to Shelter. 3) The right to Education and 4) The right to Work. The State would provide all of these (though at private expense they these could be purchased. Jobs, either community based, in nationalised industry or the armed forces were available for every person. Food would be provided at minimal expense. Accommodation was given by the state and a system which improved the standard of this in relation to a persons contribution to the state was introduced. Education became free and of a high standard and a UK style NHS, free at the point of Delivery was introduced.
TUFM (or Simply UFM as it is known within) flourished. Industry, mainly Steel, Vehicles and Weapons absolutely sky rocketed. GDP shot through the roof with the Free Pound (F£) gaining almost 1200% in the space of 15 Years. The Quality of life of the average citizen changed dramatically including more consumerism and the life expectancy rose from 62 in 2001 to 84 in 2021.

The Geography of the Union consists of three Large islands and approximately 196 smaller ones. Norse Union, the northern most is mountainous, its largest city being Jomsborg Commune. Red Union, the Cenre of the 3 large islands is Steppe, with Cold dry winters and war summers and Georgiagrad being the largest city and second city of TUFM. South union is more temperate, with Wet, Cold winters and Warm Dry summers. South Union is the most populated of the three Islands and is home to the Capital City Armford Commune.
Of the 196 smaller islands, only a hand full are occupied, and three of them are large enough to have Cities on them. Asha to the North West, a large effectively round island with the Ronan being the largest of the cities. Colonia in the West and between Norse and Red Union. This has two large cities (both with a population over 2 million) the largest being Armfield Township. To the south of South Union sits the two islands of Curran which sit between the South Union and Russian Mainland, the largest city being Haultraugh. |

South Union boasts milder weather though still cold by western standards with Warm Dry summers and Cold wet winters. Red Union is reasonably temperate with Cold dry winters and Warm summers The Norse Union spends the majority of the year in Tundra conditions. |

The Nations Economy is reasonably stable. The Service industry remains high, especially in the cities and agriculture small due to the Climate of Norse and Red Union.
The National Heath Directorate is a large employed and takes a large part of the GDP, however this now covers all aspects of Health and wellbeing from Birth to Death and includes other areas such as Mental Health and psychology.
Taxes remain stable - with 20% Average taxes for Tier 1 Earners, and 30% for Tier 2. Tier 3 Earners will pay 30% on the first F£50,000 annual earnings and 50% on everything else. Tier 4 will pay 50% on all earnings.

The Nations Economy revolved around the Steel industry. This included Weapons, Ships, Vehicles and Munitions mainly, though it has recently began to open up to consumer goods. Oil is a large factor and the country Refining industry has in the past been large, though this has been mothballed in recent years due to the decline in Gasoline prices, as has Steel and Aluminium prices. |
