Saxenland is a Grand Duchy established by Albrecht von Odon. It was established after Grand Exterminator Vasiliy of Extermination Zone 01 died, causing a major succession crisis. Ultimately, because of promises of freedom and economic growth, Albrecht emerged as Vasiliy's successor due to his immense support. Albrecht made drastic changes, establishing a monarchy and his house as the rulers of Saxenland. Prior to Albrecht's rule, there had been Vasiliy who ruled with an iron fist and oppressed the citizens of his nation. Vasiliy was from a Russian family who wanted to unite Germany because of the power it could have, and their prior correspondences to German nobles and rulers. Now, after the political upheaval that succession had on Saxenland, people are split between keeping Vasiliy's family in power, or adopting Albrecht and his family as the future leaders of Saxenland. The majority of the common folk support Albrecht, but many powerful Saxen figures side with Vasiliy's family, and if enough tension is stirred, then chaos may break out.

History: Dealing with a succession crisis from a former dictator, Duke Albrecht von Odon has many problems to fix. After the death of Grand Exterminator Vasiliy, many people scrambled to find a leader suitable for the job. Vasiliy's family did not gain much support from the common folk at all, however. Instead, Albrecht's promises of freedom and economic flourishing gained much support from the common folk. He was chosen as leader without causing a war, which was surprising, since the country was very split by who should rule. Those who supported Vasiliy's family were usually powerful people who owed their power to Vasiliy. The citizens, however, had seen the lies that their state was telling them for what they were. The former leader had ruled by fear and torture, only being able to hold onto power because of his very convincing propaganda. This propaganda often supported the idea of a superior race, and that every German had the potential to become exalted by performing good works that benefited the state. This led to neighbors ratting other neighbors out to the government's special police, and fathers betraying sons in the same way. They taught that upon reaching this exaltedness, they were above anyone who was not exalted and had authority over them. For the situation, the lie was perfectly planned. Every German wanted to achieve power to repair their broken nation after a massive war had broken out, but no one had any way of getting that power... until Vasiliy proposed his ideas. He taught that non-Germans were inferior to Germans, and even regular Germans were inferior to the exalted race. Without these factors, Vasiliy would not have had any power, at least not enough to even be the mayor of some hamlet. And so, now, Albrecht has many directions he can take this nation of his. He can promote freedom and liberty, return to how it once was, or even make the former regime look holy compared to his regime.
