History: After the successful Greco-Turkish War of 1919–1922 the Kingdom of Greece under the leadership of Eleftherios Venizelos fulfilled the Megali Idea and with it it reformed into the Hellenic Republic with Constantinople as its capital. In 1923 a civil war broke out between the monarchists and the republicans as it was found that the previous elections were rigged in favor of Venizelos. After the 3 year civil war the Monarchists with the help of Yugoslavia and Italy beat the republicans in the battle of Thessaloniki which caused the frontlines to collapse with the result being the capturing of Constantinople and the end of the Hellenic Republic. After capturing Constantinople George II formed the Basileia Rhomaion and executed all the former republican government to cement his position. After WW2 the Basileia Rhomaion with the help of the Axis power reconquered its former eastern Mediterranean lands and went on to invade the Caucasus during operation Barbarossa which would later on bring victory to the Axis powers in Europe and Asia. After the war the Basileia Rhomaion went on to boost its tourist and trade industry and became a major power which brings us to today where the Basileia Rhomaion is one of the biggest Economies in the world.
