Kingdom Of Mysore

The Kingdom Of Mysore is a semi-constitutional monarchy where the Maharaja, Krishna Raja Wadiyar, is able to sign off on laws, and in times of chaos, create his own laws with the higher court. After the Second Anglo-Mysore Wars, between Britain and Mysore, which ended in 1784, Mysore was able to capture Madras and establish dominance in South India. After achieving dominance, Mysore acted as a protectorate in which smaller weaker kingdoms would be protected and overtime annexed into Mysore itself. Today, Mysore consists of five provinces, Keralayam, Tamizh Nadu, Kannadiga, Tuluva, and Telinga representing the five main ethno-linguistic groups in the kingdom, Tulu, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, and Telegu.

Under the Wadiyar Royal Family, that has lasted almost 300 years, Mysore has flourished with a growing economy with many sectors from manufacturing, to agriculture, to tourism. The result of the economic growth has been that Mysore now boasts five major cities: the capital Mysore, Nellore, Shivamogga, Madurai, and Hyderabad. Along with these cities, three important port cities have also flourished with The Kingdom of Mysore controlling major trade routes from Arabia to Oriental, these port cities are Kochi, Madrasapattinam, and Kakinada.
