Geography
Continent: Europe
Land Area: 43,725.77 sq. km
Terrain: A land of sea, rock, moor and peat... The Isle of Lewis and Harris is a very remote Island that is mainly used for sheep farming. The Land is harsh and untamed. The Isle of Lewis is the larger part of the island... and the less mountainous region. The many beaches are wide and sandy with a rugged coastline. Stornoway is situated on the eastern coast of Lewis. Ness is the top.. There are little trees on the majority of the terrain although near Stornoway on the way to Harris there are a few pine trees in clusters.

The Isle of Harris is the southern and more mountainous part of Lewis and Harris... the two make up one landmass yet are separated by the North Harris Mountains.. Harris is the more rocky and forbidding terrain. The rocky eastern coast is ancient with some of the oldest rocks in the world. The terrain in ROCKY like in nature with little to no trees... Sea surrounds every direction. On the west coast of Harris we have the famous beach of Luskentyre which stretches out 3 miles across the coast.... the terrain here is less unrelenting in nature and comprises of grassland.. sand dunes and mountains.
There is only main road that connects the two island and this is famously known as the golden road.
Highest Peak: The Clisham, 799 meters

Climate: A marine climate on the most western parts of the Scottish Coast.... this Island is surprisingly mild in climate due to the North Atlantic Drift... the ocean remains warm during the winter. The winters are mild with little to no frost.... and rarely reach icy temperatures, The summers are not oppressive as they are in southern England. They are fresh and extremely sunny. During the midsummer due to the fact we are so far North the sun does not fully set at night and therefore the island experiences twilight. This is the opposite for the winter... as the sun sets earlier on the islands than the mainland.
The one thing that the island is known for is the extreme western winds and the rain. Nearly most of the winter in swept in gales and rain. We reach very high wind speeds such as 20-50 miles per hour regularly. The highest recorded wind speed we have had has been more than 100mph of sustained gusts.
