History: After the South African civil war, Gauteng became heavily contested and too dangerous to be the economic hub anymore. Most people fled to neighboring provinces while the bulk of businesses relocated to Durban.

They unified their private security companies to formed the Azanian defence force to defend their business interests.

They made private cities and bought surrounding land to create buffer zones from wartorn South Africa and have been developing and building the cities to maximize profits.

They also annexed Lesotho and occasionally turn out the water in Joburg so they can sell bottled water :P
