 The term "Circassian" includes the twelve historic Adyghe tribes of Circassia; Abdzakh, Besleney, Bzhedugh, Hatuqwai, Kabardey, Mamkhegh, Natukhaj, Shapsugh, Chemguy, Ubykh, Yegeruqwai and Zhaney, each star on the Circassian flag representing one tribe.
