I just received an offer for over 100k+ for 1 food, but why?
This has occurred due to you playing baseball home games (profitable), whereas I was playing away games (not profitable). In order to incentivize people to play away games, most of the baseball players decided there should be a default 30% rate, thus the trade offer.

Why should I pay you? 
Failure to pay will result in an embargo. Once you are embargoed by enough high-level players within the baseball community, the games will not as profitable, and it will be harder to find opponents, which directly impacts your profits since you earn more when the opposing team is strong such as seen here https://politicsandwar.com/obl/team/search/ it's your own choice whether to pay or not.
