History: Imperium Romana was founded after the Second World War, having existed as a powerful and wealthy group of nobles who could trace their ancestry back to the Roman Empire of old. In the chaos after the death of Benito Mussolini, the members of the group assumed various leadership positions in the government.

By 1949, the group had gained complete control over the nation, establishing the leadership as the Primo: Imperator Aenar who ruled for 17 years, from 1949 to 1966. Imperator Aenar would see the Imperium through its first great war, the war known as Knightfall, serving in the alliance of Pantheon.

Imperator Aenar was followed by the Secondo: Imperator Aranor, who ruled for 25 years, from 1966 to 1991. Imperator Aranor would rule the Imperium through its darkest days, fighting in the great war known as NPO's Last Time, serving in the alliance known as the Black Knights.

Imperator Aranor was succeeded by the Terzo: Imperator Graeth, who ruled from 1991 to 2012. Imperator Graeth would be burdened with rebuilding the Imperium after Aranor's reign, and he would indeed rebuild it, then grow it to new glorious heights, although he would retire after leading the Imperium through an unnamed Great War, serving in The Commonwealth.

After the death of Imperator Graeth, he was succeeded by the current leader of the Imperium Romanum, the Quarto: Imperator Tarroc, who has ruled from 2012 to 2021. Imperator Tarroc would lead the Imperium through another unnamed Great War, serving in The Syndicate, and unlike his predecessors, he did not retire after the Great War, instead choosing to continue leading the Imperium to new, glorious heights.

Land Area: 342,467.55 sq. km
Terrain: Almost 40% of the territory of the Imperium Romanum is mountainous, with the Alps as the northern boundary and the Apennine Mountains forming the backbone of the peninsula and extending for 1,350 km (840 mi).

In between the two lies a large plain in the valley of the Po, the largest river in the Imperium Romanum, which flows 652 km (405 mi) eastward from the Cottian Alps to the Adriatic.

The Po Valley is the largest plain in the Imperium Romanum, with 46,000 km2 (18,000 sq mi), and it represents over 70% of the total plain area in the country.

In the north of the country are a number of subalpine moraine-dammed lakes, the largest of which is Garda (370 km2 or 143 sq mi).
Other well known of these subalpine lakes are Lake Maggiore (212.5 km2 or 82 sq mi), whose most northerly section is part of Switzerland, Como (146 km2 or 56 sq mi), Orta, Lugano, Iseo, Idro.

Climate: With its hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters, Imperium Romanum experiences a Mediterranean climate. Winters in the Imperium Romanum are cool and humid in the north and the mountainous zone. Sometimes cold air from northern Europe can spread south into the Imperium Romanum , bring snow to most mountains, while the coasts are kept warm by the high sea temperatures. Storms like the Mistral can bring snow and gales, sometimes even in southern districts of the Imperium Romanum.

The summer can be quite hot in the Imperium Romanum, mainly in the south of the peninsula, with high nocturnal temperatures of usually 28-33°C, but sometimes even 40°C. Thunderstorms are quite common especially in the northern areas. The Mediterranean climate in the Imperium Romanum has often local variations. Surrounded by warm seas and with mountains close by, the coast always has a breeze; mountain areas are usually cooler with clear sunny skies, but sometimes local showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Hot air rising from the sea can cause heavy Thunderstorms especially in early fall, but these bring often the only summer rain that rapidly evaporates. In spring and fall, the Sirocco, a warm wind from Africa, raises the temperature of the peninsula. In the summer these winds can bring very hot, unpleasant weather, sometimes even up to the northern districts of the Imperium Romanum .
