The people of this nation have lived here since the beginning of known history, many in our nation able to claim a measure of ancestry from the indigenous people here. We built our first villages on these plains, created our farms on its riverbanks, dug our mines into this land's hills and mountains, and sent our ships along its rivers. As our allies caught up to our technology, we dug foundations for skyscrapers into the land's bedrock, erected antennas and radars on the hills, paved our airports and laid our railways, and constructed trenches and bunkers on our borders.
