History:	The Territory of Latsu was founded in the ashes of what was the County of Dane in Wisconsin, small numbers of people coalesced around Lake Monona and began to build a small, but stable, city. From there other's in the region would here of the success that was the (now city) of Monona and gradually other populated areas would form pacts (later treaties) with this first city. The cities; Monona, Waubesa, and Kegonsa would agree upon the name Latsu for their new Territory and a weak but present Federal Government would form to oversee public works and trade between the city-states. Following a tough war with Durkadurkastan (and the founding of Mendota) Latsu would see a surge in growth and a move towards manufacturing, new cities were established as well near what was formerly Milwaukee and Chicago leading to a steep rise in population and the establishment of Latsu as a true nation. After years of lucrative trade deals among allies Latsu would enter a great industrial age. Backed by a thriving arms market and advances in infrastructure technology the cities of this once small nation swelled to greater size and military campaigns to the north yielded territories through what was once Green Bay. Latsu would go on to fight against the enemies of the Immortals when attacked, the nation would sustain heavy losses throughout the conflict but go on to outlast many of her enemies. The unprovoked attacks by communist forces would solidify the already strong anti-collectivist sentiment in the nation. During the war refugees from other nations hit would migrate to the military camp at Wazee and form a new city devoted to recruitment and manufacturing of aircraft, to this day Wazee is the most militaristically inclined city state. The federal government would go on to strengthen its spy capabilities during this time as well leading to a sophisticated network of international intelligence gathering.

The western portion of the nation is occupied by a great plain while the south western area features rougher hillsides that were left mostly unscathed by glacial activity in earlier times.

Climate:	Technically classified as "warm-summer, humid continental climate", Latsu has a diverse selection of seasons. This ranges from freezing cold winters, with snow being absent in parts and plentiful in others, to hot and humid summers. The intermediary seasons (spring and fall) can be long or short depending on the year, at times it seems the weather is simply chosen at random on any given day.

Economy
Description:	Economically the nation has a very relaxed regulatory system for business, the exact details vary from city to city but are largely untouched by the Federal Government. Most wealth comes from trade and tourism rather than tax income as taxes are kept relatively low, the citizens are trusted to purchase with their income as they see fit with a high level of voluntary community support both encouraged and emphasized by the culture that has been fostered. This results in few individuals going without what they require, although poverty exists freedom of individuals is of a higher priority (low taxes allow working poor to rise out of poverty more quickly than they could otherwise). Latsu takes a great interest in moral trade agreements, this led to embargoes being put in place against many alliances that partake in raiding as a primary source of income to prevent arming pirates and their ilk.

Industries:	Industry in Latsu is somewhat uniform, the beautiful terrain attracts tourism while the plentiful waterways bring in fishermen and aquatic hobbiests of all kinds. Much of the population works to produce manufactured goods, particularly munitions, using lead purchased from neighboring nations. In this time of relative peace Latsu does not partake in offensive wars, so little wealth is generated through conflict.
Military
History:	Latsu has a proud military culture, at the age of 18 citizens are required to partake in 2 years of either community service (typically learning trades and building/maintaining infrastructure) or military service. These are trying times so many of the young adults choose to fight in order to protect what the nation has earned in previous conflicts. The military relies heavily on its Citizens' Guard (ground forces) to dominate battle on the land with armored divisions being used as needed. Generally speaking Latsu is a peaceful nation, preferring to sell arms to it's allies and supplement allied forces in conflict than to go on the offensive, but the Latsunites are not afraid to apply force when needed. Latsu considers itself good friends and close allies with the Kingdoms of Haugalandet and Volas whom they have fought many wars alongside.
