Centuria, formerly known as 'Imperial South Africa', is a nation that rose from the embers of conflict, and with generous assistance, grew rapidly to carve its mark into the wider world. The Centuria of then, of the 2040s, was a freshly born nation, recently independent from the Empire, and saved from Eastern advances by the UoDN - who now sought to assist their new allies in the Three-Sphere War. Centuria grew, capitalized on the arms trade, exploited what it could exploit, and painted a colorful illusion of a free nation while working tirelessly in the shade to build a true bastion of military and economic power.
The Centuria of today, the 2070s, is greatly indebted to our forebears, for they established our industry, for they allowed our civil sector to grow and remain stable, for they brought about the new, hyper-modern CDF, for they brought about robotic integration, saving countless Centurian lives in combat. The Centuria of now sits cleanly as one of the dominant forces in the UoDN, even rivaling the now worn-out US in terms of influence - the CDF is engaged in warfare against the Empire and Eastern Bloc all across the globe on behalf of the UoDN, Centurian resource extraction groups have full control over the vast majority of Africa, and bring immense resource wealth to our industry, the industry which produces civil prosperity as well as cutting edge military technology. Centuria stares out towards the future with grand ambitions, supported from behind by an unstoppable military and economic powerhouse. We shall protect the UoDN, we shall protect that which aids us, and we shall carve our legacy into the Earth.

Centuria, a nation formally founded in 2040, came into existence a decade into a expansive 3-sphere war, which seemed to have no end in sight - a war fought between the Empire, the Eastern Bloc, and the Union of Democratic Nations.
Centurian territories previously belonged to the Empire, under the title of ‘Imperial South Africa’, and the colony had been a relatively prosperous trading post since the early to mid-1800’s. While the ISA was fully under imperial rule, and received the standard imperial treatment of exhaustive cultural cleansing, the distance between the imperial core territories and the ISA and the series of relaxed, open governors and overseers allowed for merchants living in south to make countless deals with sailors, merchants, traders, that hailed from nations that the empire would otherwise consider hostile - the most notable of these connections was the establishment of informal trade routes between the US and the ISA.
However, as the world started reaching into the late 2020’s, conflicts began to spark between the present power spheres, and as fighting in middle-eastern, northern, western fronts escalated, the Empire became increasingly strained - and in 2038, with almost no notice, all imperial security forces were removed, triggering an almost immediate response from two eastern-affiliated nations, who invaded ISA territories in August 2038. The response was panicked, with the remaining administration seeking to flee instead of orchestrating defence - however, as the crisis neared the eleventh hour and Nuurian soldiers neared the outskirts of several large cities, senior cadets and staff from the imperial academy and established merchants from Eden port brought a solution, in the form of the UoDN.
The deal went as such: In exchange for support with weapons supply, training, and the deployment of UoDN peacekeepers, the negotiating imperials would forcibly cede from the empire, and found a nation that would be aligned with the UoDN. Perhaps even without conflict, such a shift in governance would have been supported, but the dire situation threw public support behind the proposal even quicker. The first UoDN forces landed at Eden port in September 2038, and under the joint command of the cadet prodigy James Heron, and US General Phillip Lawson, the UoDN and newly established ‘Centurian’ Defence Forces (the name Centuria being adapted from the Centurions, fighters organised by J. Heron that fought valiantly in 100’s) managed to stabilise the region and push back advancing Eastern periphery forces.
In February of 2040, Centuria finally found peace, brokering indefinite-period cease-fires with the northern nations of Nuuran and Hiluati, turning attention towards repair, reconstruction, and growth. Centuria was assisted greatly by the UoDN with aspects of repair and reconstruction, however, it was a flash of genius amongst high-level advisors that allowed Centuria to carve out its first niche - weapons development. Working behind closed doors, Centuria spent heavily in order to attract and facilitate the development of the military-industrial complex, with considerable success - by 2055, the CDF had been fully modernised, but more importantly, weapons exports formed upwards of 60% of Centurian exports, and 37% of GDP. It was this growth within weapons development and export that paved the way for further development of advanced arms, as well as revitalizations in civilian sectors.
Post-2055, Centuria began to heavily involve itself in overseas proxy conflicts, aligning itself with the UoDN - which were by now starting to be worn out by decades of perpetual proxy conflicts - and the advanced, new CDF greatly relieved strain on several important fronts. This only expanded as high-level tech development in Centuria finalised limited combat AI models, and started mass-producing robotic drones to replace infantry, ground support, and logistics roles. The newly ‘integrated’ CDF would go on to prove pivotal at numerous battles, particularly in the stagnating south-middle-eastern fronts in Egyptian territories.
While the prowess of the CDF was revitalising UoDN forces overseas, Centuria was also engaging in domestic expansions - capitalising upon minor treaty violations with Nuuran and Hiluati to launch devastating offensive operations into the nations, which, while covered up as ‘efforts to subdue eastern influence’ were clearly little more than naked grabs for control over land resources. Following the formal surrender of Nuuran in 2064, and the beheading of Hiluati two years later, Centurian resource extracting organisations have had almost complete free reign to any resources on the african continent - with Centurian drones clearing out resistance on numerous occasions, unbeknownst to the wider populace. Regarding international trade, the Centurian tradition of negotiating clandestine deals has continued, and shipments of Imperial and Eastern goods continue to flow through Centurian ports, maintaining the trade and cultural exchange between the three spheres.
Domestically, post-2055, Centuria has experienced immense growth, both in regards to economic output, and quality of life, general social welfare. This has largely been driven by the series of highly expansionary policies regarding civil sectors, supported by massive revenues generated from state-owned weapons development and manufacture, however, in recent years, the Centurian civil production sectors have been capable of supporting themselves and growing on their own. Socially, Centurian citizens bear a great deal of freedom, as citizens of a Federal Democratic Republic with largely corruption-free election processes and a large range of political and social freedoms and rights - with the very notable exception of matters regarding the development and operation of Centurian arms production and the CDF - altogether, living as a Centurian citizen is great, even if to forget the war-torn and worn-out state of the wider world.
In summary, Centuria may be a new nation, but with generous help from the UoDN, it rose quickly to its throne amidst the great powers of the world. Centuria is a free nation, for those that live within it, and for those who side with it, but we give no quarter to our enemies, and we seek expansion. We are the boot of the free western world, we are armed to the teeth with the latest and greatest, and we will not hesitate to use overwhelming force.

Centuria is split into the core territories - voting provinces that are considered the 'domestic', periphery provinces - direct Centurian control at the governmental level, but not fully recognized, and extranational sectors - zones where Centurian resource procurement interests have complete control, however, the civil population is not recognized as a Centurian responsibility.
There is a strong perimeter between the core territories and the periphery zones, and periphery residents are not permitted to cross the border without fulfilling citizenship conditions. There is a less strong, albeit considerably more militarized border between the peripheries and sectors, to provide some sense of national borders to those in the periphery.

Hot and arid, water is a massive issue, due to the lack of big aquifers, or freshwater lakes. Almost 40% of our country's water comes from desalination plants, extracting salt from the water under immense pressure. Cities are artificially irrigated, primarily with used water that is filtered. This system is supported by artificial canals that run through most of the larger cities. With the water that is not sourced from desalination, outland expansion has brought several sustainable aquifers and bodies of water into our territory, which we use to support our water infrastructure.

Centuria operates a system of regulated but welcoming Capitalism, with favorable taxation for corporations, as well as additional subsidies to incentivize foreign investment, and has been operating under an expansionary fiscal and monetary stance for the entirety of its stable existence, and while this stance places stress on the stability of Centuria's economy, foreign economic partners are working closely with Centuria through various agreements to guarantee the stability of the economy. This welcoming stance to corporations and foreign assitance, however, does not mean that the rights of citizens are paved over. Strong sets of laws fight to prevent foreign exploitation, while social policies enacted by the administration of 2060 have subsidized tertiary education and nationalized primary and secondary education facilities, allowing for many Centurians to attain their desired careers without traveling overseas.
This combination of fresh high-skilled workers, combined with favorable policy for foreign companies has led to what has been widely referred to as an economic miracle. Despite the short and unstable history of our nation, in the last 5 years, Centuria's commercial and services sectors have seen growth at higher levels than any other nation in the world, with leading economists predicting that there will be no end to such growth in the near future, considering major plans for corporations to migrate their primary operations to Centuria.
Arms Export Industry:
Due to ongoing conflicts within the strife zone and along other fronts, there is heavy demand for arms and defence technology - which Centuria supplies. The export of arms and other military equipment has long been one of the major backbones of the Centurian economy, despite it being attributed to miracle policy work. However, as the years pass and Centuria turns more towards long-term security, it has been ensured that Centuria does not grow reliant on the export of arms - in order to ensure that there is no significant economic recession upon a reduction in international demand.

Major industries include water filtration and production, and we are developing a strong aluminum industry for export to allied nations, and for use in our own aviation and aerospace industries. We have a strong commercial sector, with many buildings in our cities increasing the rate and amount of trade, creating and attracting investment -- both foreign and local -- along the way. Our military research and construction branch is also one of our primary national industries. We have created numerous designs and prototypes for infantry robots, which we are testing at home before shipping them to our allies. We have developed and now mass-produce a mech walker chassis, and we have utilized it as our primary tank, due to its amazing versatility in combat situations.

The Centurian Defence Force (CDF) was established in 2046, and served as peacekeepers in the streets, as the government formed, and relief initiatives were planned and rolled out. At the end of 2051, the CDF reformed and bolstered its numbers, incorporating an Air Force (CAF) and a Navy (CNF).
