History: Founded in the revolutionary wave of November 2037. Following a year of rising civil unrest, a growing working class movement and violent state repression from the Commonwealth of Australia, a group of workers took control of Phillip Island and proclaimed their independence. This led to a revolutionary uprising across Victoria, spilling into New South Wales, the fledgling workers state grew to control most of the continent's South East.

The OSR is officially headed by the Oceanic Representative Council, which is made up of representatives from factory committees across the nation. All decisions are made by rank and file workers, and the Representative council is merely the means of debating these decisions across the entire nation.

The nation actively pursues international proletarian revolution.

History: Originally founded as the Oceanic People's Militia (OPM), it's ranks are made up of armed workers and some members of the Commonwealth's armed forces that were won over to the side of the revolution. It was founded to protect protesting workers from attacks on the streets during the opening days of the revolution. On 29/1/2038 at the First National Assembly, where representatives from the liberated cities drafted the constitution of the "Oceanic Free Peoples", the OPM was renamed the Oceanic Defence Force (ODF), it was tasked with defending the revolution from the threat of international counter revolution, and to defend revolutions abroad. When the OSR is not in immediate danger, the ODF is effectively dispanded and volunteers return to work.
