Located in the Eastern part of the world, the Republic of In Oriente Primus (sometimes referred to as "The Republic") is a Social Democratic State.

At the height of the Cold War, many developing countries got involved in a number of proxy wars between the two major power blocs. Wishing to not formally align with any major power bloc, the Republic of Oriente Primus and other developing East Asian countries formed the "Non-Aligned States of East Asia" (NASEA). Established in 1956, the NASEA was also formed to ensure national independence, economic and technological development, and collective self-defense of member states.

The NASEA played a significant role in the technological development of the Republic during the Cold War years. With the cooperation and agreements focused on technological and economic development, the Republic managed to establish itself as one of the fastest growing economies in East Asia during the Cold War years.

Four years after the end of the Cold War, the Republic committed itself to Social Democracy and introduced policies aimed to promote economic and social well-being of its citizens.
