ROG DEPLOYS TASK FORCE TO THRESE
October 21, 2099
Amid the upcoming invasion of Nigeria by Transvaal, Victoria, the Dutch Republic, and the GSC, the Senate has elected to deploy a task force to await further orders in shipyards within the nation of Threse, in order to aid in the disarming of the dangerous land-grabbing Osman state. The deployments are as follows:
- ISS Vatican and ISS Enclave Proctor-class destroyers
- ISS In Amber Clad and ISS Iroquois Athens-class frigates
- ISS Ian Fleming Hades-class Prowler (maiden voyage)
- ISS Rorke's Drift Excalibur-class super cruiser
- ISS Gemini Armadillo-class helicopter carrier (maiden voyage)
- 1 hospital ship
- 1 minelayer ship
- 1 minesweeper ship
Alongside these, the following forces will also be deployed:
- 2 anti-submarine warfare helicopters (1st Marines Aviation Corps)
- 8 VTG-1 VTOL transport gunships (1st Marines Aviation Corps)
- 20 transport helicopters (1st Marines Aviation Corps)
- 5 HAB-1 MkII high altitude bombers (1st Naval Aviation Corps)
- 2 CAS-1 close air support gunships (1st Naval Aviation Corps)
- 10 transport aircraft (1st Naval Aviation Corps)
- 30 NSOC operatives (Naval Special Operations Command)
- 501st Airborne Ranger Regiment (2,500 men)
From Sedrosia, the following forces from 2nd Army will be deployed:
- 5th Infantry Division (20,000 men)
- 6th Infantry Division (20,000 men)
- 2nd Armored Division (75 MBT-1s, 75 AATH-1s, 75 IFVs, 25 missile projectors)
- 7th Airborne Brigade (5,000 men, 2nd Airborne Division)
All forces are expected to arrive in Threse by October 31 and will standby until further orders are given.
FORCES REMOVED FROM THE SOUTHERN REPUBLIC
The 501st Airborne Ranger Regiment, arguably the most seasoned combat unit within the Republic Of Greenland, has been pulled from the frontlines of the Southern Republic after 6 months of brutal fighting. Of the 2,500 men who are in the 501st, 1,500 were deployed to TSR. 147 were wounded or KIA after the 6 months. Apostle Squad, the most elite unit in the entire ROG (and possibly the world), consisting of 12 operatives, has also been pulled from active duty. To make up for the loss, the following units from the 3rd Army (reserves) have been deployed in their place to aid the Southern Republic in liberating Miami and further ending their civil war:
- 9th Infantry Division (20,000 men)
- 3rd Armored Division (50 MBT-1s, 50 AATH-1s, 50 IFVs, 15 missile projectors)
- 3rd Army Aviation Corps (30 attack helicopters, 75 transport helicopters, 45 VTG-1 VTOL transport gunships, 1 anti-submarine warfare helicopter)
- 3rd Cavalry (100 APCs, 150 MRAPs, 200 armored cars)
NEW WEAPONS FIRMS OPEN UP ACROSS THE EMPIRE
Recently, the market dominance and monopoly held within the Imperial Republic by The Forge, the federal weapons manufacturer, has been somewhat challenged after Polytech Arms, Co. a startup from the city of Phaedport, officially released its first weapon, the P1 Bullpup Rifle. Immediately proving popular for civilian militias, police, and some overseas exports, it has raked in a total of 50 million dollars so far. The P2 Compact Handgun, a civilian concealed-carry weapon chambered in .40 Polytech with an overall length of just 5.5 inches and a magazine capacity of 8 rounds, followed soon after. It solid nearly 20,000 units (mostly to civilians) and Polytech quickly followed up with the innovative P3 Combat Pistol, which has become a favorite of police officers everywhere, and is better than the current MA6 used by GSC and ROG forces.
Soon after this, two new firms also opened up, seeing that it was possible to fight back against The Forge's monopoly. Minotaur Defense, with their slogan "defend your labyrinth" has become an extremely popular civilian home defense and self-defense weapons company, with the DS-12 shotgun soon being adopted for use by GSC breachers after The Forge itself admitted that it could not outdo them. Over 25,000 units have been sold so far. Next, they released the DS-7 semi-automatic rifle, a .303 rifle meant for civilian use, which sold 15,000.
The other firm, Malkovich Weapons Manufacturing, Lmtd. was formed by Lunorian and Soviet Federation immigrants, who have begun making the one rifle The Forge has yet to explore: Kalashnikovs. The MK-47, a better alternative to most AKs currently on the market, sold nearly 30,000 units within its first month, and the MKM sold over 50,000. The MKM is a cheaper version, and of much worse quality. Malkovich is currently under suspicion of selling to communist terrorist cells, though no solid evidence has been found yet.
SPECIAL FORCES RESCUE VICE PRESIDENT JAMES WALKER
On the morning of October 19, 2099, Apostle Squad, the most elite ROG unit to date, raided a warehouse on the outskirts of Reach, quickly taking down nearly 35 communist soldiers without much of a fight. They found Vice President James Walker, who had been missing since March 16, after the attempted bombing of the presidential train, tied up and gagged in a back office. Surrounding him were various tools and instruments of torture. The VP's physical and mental state were both rapidly deteriorating, to the point where he was unable to speak or acknowledge the presence of the operatives.
Apostle Squad quickly extracted the VP and brought him to an undisclosed medical center, where he underwent treatment and is making a full recovery. Reports claim that he is slowly beginning to speak again, but is prone to episodes of PTSD or schizophrenia. His ability to hold the position of vice president with his current mental condition are being questioned.
