ROG Buys Haut-Katanga Province Of Congo, Establishes Local Armed Forces

ROG PURCHASES HAUT-KATANGA PROVINCE OF THE DRC, ESTABLISHES LOCAL ARMED FORCES

As of May 27th 2099, the province of Haut Katanga has been purchased by the Republic Of Greenland from the Congo. The province will provide the ROG with 10 million more people and a 2 billion dollar boost in GDP, giving us now approximately 21,000,000 people and 538,000,000,000 GDP.

Already, the code of laws for other Greenlandic territories has been established, and President Phoenix Hayes has laid out a plan to improve the area while Congolese troops protect it until the transfer of power finished.

As per the plan, 300,000 of the 1,000,000 men between the ages of 18-22 (this according to recent population pyramids) will join the Imperial Army, while 50,000 (for now) men will make up the newly formed African Provincial Defense Force (APDF) a local military meant to protect the interests of the Republic Of Greenland in her African territories and provinces.

As for civilian life, the following improvements will be made:

• Mandatory learning of English, Congolese and Afrikaans for all students
• Improvement upon current education materials and curriculum 
• Literacy rate of at least 75%
• Medical improvements in equipment, training, medicines, and facilities
• Vaccination rate of 85%
• Lowering the price of medical care
• Improvement of urban and rural areas
• Protection of farmers and their land and animals by the APDF
• Increased police training in contemporary methods and equipment + funding
• Creation of solid roads within cities and suburbs
• Curbing the drug problems plaguing the area
• Increasing economic prosperity so that the GDP reaches 5B OBD
• Providing trade schools and business opportunities for locals, as well as jobs

Finally, thanks to our location next to the Transvaal Republic, relations between the two of our nations will hopefully increase even further than they had before. 

THE AFRICAN PROVINCIAL DEFENSE FORCE

• 50,000 local troops, approximately 35,000 of which are conscripts
• 2 months of training total for basic infantry, though the quality of training is poor (slightly better than training of current African forces in 2024)
• All troops are armed with C-10 Battle Rifles, AK-113 automatic rifles, or a special infantry weapon such as a C-200 .22 LR SMG or an LMG
• Most APDF infantry weapons are poor quality and meant for mass production and ease of use

APDF VEHICLES

• 20 MBTs (2 MBT-1s, 15 outdated light tanks, 3 AATH-1s of which 2 are army models and 1 is a navy model)
• 65 APCs (outdated, 5 makeshift and 12 AATH-1 army models stripped of their cannons)
• 25 IFVs (15 models from the early 2090s, 10 outdated models)
• 30 Amphibious Assault Vehicles (all AAV-1s)
• 70 MRAPs (all outdated aside from 3 meant for VIPs)
• 350 assorted trucks, jeeps, cars and transports (118 repurposed civilian vehicles turned into Technicals)
• 1 Missile Projector (outdated, early 2070s model)

APDF AIR FORCE

• 5 Fighter Planes (mid-2080s British models)
• 3 Multirole Planes (MRF-1s)
• 10 Bombers (2 early 2090s models, 8! repurposed Cessna's)
• 27 Patrol Craft (Cessna's with machine guns) 
• 38 Transport Planes 
• 18 Attack Helicopters (7 British mid-2090s, 11 outdated)
• 69 Transport Helicopters 
• 2 Anti Submarine Warfare Helicopters (outdated)

APDF NAVY

• 1 Destroyer (APSS Rhodesia Proctor-Class)
• 2 Frigates (APSS Tiger and APSS Henry Jamestown-Class and Bearpaw-Class)
• 1 Cruiser (APSS MacArthur Bayonet-Class)
• 5 Corvettes (all Hornet-Class)
• 57 patrol boats 

THE APDF NAVY IS STATIONED AT DOCKS WITHIN THE TRANSVAAL REPUBLIC. 24 PATROL BOATS ARE FRESHWATER AND STAY IN RIVERS AND LAKES WITHIN THE PROVINCE.
