President Visser's New Year's Adress | The Presidential Office.

Now follows the official new year's adress by President of the Dutch Republic Luuk Visser, broadcasted live from the Presidential Palace in Apeldoorn, the capital of the Dutch Republic. We will play the anthem now, and afterwards the President will speak.

President Visser's Official New Year's Adress

Goodday citizens of the Dutch Republic, both on the mainland and overseas. 2098 has been a tragic year, with the devastating collapse of both the Soviet Federation and the United Imperium. Our efforts to maintain world peace have failed, and the superpowers have destroyed themselves and their neighbors. Luckily, the Dutch Republic is barely affected, but it's a massive tragedy nonetheless.

2098 was also a year of wars, we have abandoned our Neutrality Doctrine, and shifted our focus to interventionism. Last august we launched a special military operation into Alsace-Lorraine, better known as Valoriana at the time. Our brave soldiers of our elite armoured division led the assault, and together with the rest of their Dutch comrades, and many other international comrades, succeeded in liberating the area from the horrible communist government.

As of right now, we are at war with Uchama and the Melon, to help our allies, The Sedrosian Empire and Victoria, bring freedom to that region as well. Our MDoAP with Victoria was established this year, and we traded the Calais Exclave for the permanent addition of French Flanders into the Republic.

Other than some economic concessions, the Dutch Republic will not be making any major demands in the upcoming peace talks, and leaves the negotiations up to her allies, who I expect will set up a treaty they deem fair. Until then, our brave and skilled soldiers will continue operating in enemy territory, commanded by Dutch, Sedrosian and Victorian officers. 

2099 will hopefully be a year of peace and prosperity. A year in which the world can calmly recover from the chaos of 2098, a year in which the world will finally realize that cooperation isn't all bad. A year in which democracy will flourish.

To all citizens of the Dutch Republic, whether it's here on the mainland, on the ABC islands, in Suriname, in Ningbo, in South Africa and on the front. I wish you a happy and rich 2099, and I am sure you will all do your part in keeping the Dutch Republic growing.
