The Rebuilding Begins!

A couple of volunteers in outer Nova Thies on August 20th, 2098.

After the severe nuclear attacks on both sides of the world by warring parties, the dust has seemingly settled. Via the government, the lands of Mundusia have been deemed safe - at least for now. The mass chaos that had come before the bombs fell ravaged the streets. The capital of Nova Thies seems to be most heavily damaged. Smoke pillows from what used to be neighborhood grocery stores, and local government centers have partially succumbed to fires.

Thankfully, not all hope is lost in the rebuilding process. Large amounts of civilian volunteers have flocked out of the bunkers as it seems. These volunteers number to nearly 100,000 people - one of the largest voluntary civilian missions in the history of Mundusia. They have since started calling themselves the Mundusian Volunteer Force.

These actions have invoked a sense of pride and unity in the Mundusian nation. Nation-wide nationalist movements have since sprouted, grown, or gained recognition. Most notable of these organizations are those who are a part of the National Union of Mundusia. The NUM is a coalition of these organizations which have subsequently banded together to make Mundusia a better place. Most of these organizations are charities and nonprofits, such as the Food For the Hungry program which - as the name suggests gives food to the hungry populace of Mundusia.

At the center of all of this is Association Leader Markuse Auxe Ar Helmingts. He is a familiar face and name to many impoverished families across the nation. Unfortunately, we couldn't get an interview with him. However, we were assured that Auxe Ar Helmingts was hard at work.

What Is The Government Doing Near The Gambia?

Some military vehicles "surveying the area" as they patrol around the Gambia. August 8.

Recent reports from areas in and around the Gambia have stated that an alarming amount of Mundusian military personnel were spotted near the border. At first these sayings were simply dismissed as warstarting rumors. However, as it was soon evident, the government itself had announced their presence near the country/region. Now questions are beginning to arise on what exactly the military and government are doing there.

Officially, the cause for this rather suspicious movement is "surveying the environment around the Gambia." Despite this statement many have started to speculate that an invasion of the Gambia would come soon. This can be further backed by the moving of the Medinea Flotilla towards the coast. Furthermore, there is no realistic need for Mundusia to become involved in such affairs.

President Karl Kopington spoke on this matter at a press conference in Madeira. At mentioned press conference he reportedly said the following:

"We have no interest or intention to invade the Gambia. It is simply a military operation to ensure that the land is safe and available for housing if need be. Do not believe the lies sprouted out from these yappers' mouths. Again, I must emphasize for those who did not listen. There is no planned invasion in the slightest. We are simply using surveillance within our sovereign borders."

"People's Forces Bloc" Deemed Terror Group

The only known picture of the PFB in action.

The "People's Forces Bloc", or PFB for short, has been officially deemed as a terror group by the Mundusian government. This comes after their rather extremist statements and collective far-left sentiments which have disturbed members of their fellow leftist parties along with some local government functions. All of these actions were cited as part of their campaign for the "Liberation of Mundusia" from the supposed far-right.

Some of these mentioned actions include several confirmed and unconfirmed incidents of murder, attempted assassination(s) on right-wing party leaders, and organized gang violence against those with right-wing association. Undeniably, though, the group had at least one confirmed connection to these multitude of cases. These orchestrated actions could threaten to reverse progress that volunteers and government missions had built up as the longer they exist the more violent the crimes they commit may become. Parties from all sides of the political spectrum, excluding the far-left hardliners of course, have since called for united government action against the PFB.

Law enforcement have been on red alert, searching for suspected members of this seemingly well-hidden group. New legislature allowing for police to search without warrants may be introduced to ensure quicker safety. Of course, this is all up to what the Senate and Assembly say and rule.

We will try our best to continue operations there with what limited personnel we have left there.
