The Novus Atlanticus | Edition 3

(Vetus Mundus) - President Smiter has had a stroke at the age of 85, causing him to be hospitalized. He is currently being advised to stay at the hospital, as per the wishes of the QW-Korps whom do not want to lose their leader. However, some wish otherwise.

A large group of the populace have converted to nationalism, and some have even converted to ultra-nationalism. Most are considered to be avid supporters of the former Tsardom, which is when Mundusia had control of the entirety of Siberia. Some are even obsessed with the idea of a "Greater Mundusia" in which all of the territories Mundusia once held are reacquired. 

This has since caused violent disconnection from the military and the rest of the populace. We interviewed "Tsar" Marcus Laksmih-Romanov, who claims to be the "Glorious Tsar of Siberia, Leader of Mundusians, Monarch of Norway, Liberator of the Americas, Patriarch of Angola and the Coastal Territory of Africa, Tsar of Greenland, Monarch of Karelia and the Lapland, Regent of Czechoslovakia, and Tsar of Croatia".

"This government, it needs to change. Smiter is an old man, this isn't the 2080s anymore where he was so called 'glorious'." Marcus stated. "I demand he steps down and put me in place. Right now, as I am speaking, he is hospitalized. What's he going to do? Lead the nation from his deathbed?! All he's done in the past two years was launch a simple invasion to take over a city in Connecticut!"

After getting heated, Marcus proceeded to punch our interviewer two times because of a "We Love Smiter!" pin he had worn. Since then, our interviewer has gone missing. This implies that the nationalists may have taken him from us. 

Afterwards, Smiter released a statement saying this:

"I have listened and heard your pleas. However, I will not step down from my position or falter to those who don't know what they're doing. Launching a full-scale invasion at this size will kill us all. We will be destroyed if we follow the path of a madman."

After this statement, President Smiter fell into a coma thus relieving him of his position until he wakes up. A group of high-ranking QW-Korp Lieutenants have since taken over for him in the meantime. Nationalists frequently try to enter Smiter's private hospital but are shot the minute they do so.

Many nationalists and ultranationalists have also started to create organized crime against immigrants from the enemies of Mundusia. Captain Romeo Caville has since started to suggest the use of mercenaries to take care of this problem. This suggestion is still being considered.

Also, Director of Economy Elias Cassius was charged with treason after a letter was found in his home, written by himself stating: 

"I will raze Mundusia if necessary to return it to its former glory, and have no guilt about killing to get it done. Each one of these immigrants are nothing but a swarm of insects to me. I will wipe them from existence. For Mundusia."

He has since been arrested, with many people expecting his trial soon.
